Got really confused with Brave blowing up, cause it wasn't my favourite. Then I heard that it had a musical line similar to Katy Perry's 'Roar', so both fan bases were curious. King of Anything is fantastic and I adore that Love Song is a middle finger to a record company.

Aaaaahhhh!!! This song came out in my last year of my BA and it was on non stop repeat all the way through my studying for those final exams. Still puts a lump in my throat 14 years later 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Sara is amazing! She has a range of sounds but a lot of them are piano based and simple like this. And she wrote the music and lyrics to the musical, Waitress. The highlight from that is the song, She Used to Be Mine. There are many compilations of that song on YT from various broadway singers who sing it really well, but no one does it like Sara herself. I saw her live a few years ago and she talked about how and why she wrote the song and it’s so personal. I like her albums but she just shines live. She’s funny and warm and her vocals and musicianship are incredible. She has a live album with her covers of Goodbye Yellow Brick Road and Sittin’ On the Dock of the Bay. Not to be missed! I think there are videos too.
@@musicfangirl7403 I've seen her live as well and I completely agree--you can't really capture Sara on vinyl. And yes, she's all those things you stated--she's very charming and fun in concert. I had the privilege of seeing her play Jenna in Waitress and the Bakers Wife in Into The Woods--(for which she got a Tony nod) --she's really coming into her own on stage and in Girls 5eva (peacock). But seeing her perform SUTBM live is ....wonderful. You could hear a pin drop while she sang...and then thunderous applause and a standing ovation. She's just SO good! 💜
That were firkin decent. Who cares what it's about when it sounds that perfect...she doesn't need a studio version, just throw this on a CD. Did she audition the crowd first...tape over the mouths of any shrill/flat fux?? 🙉 I remember the Love Song single, learnt the catchy piano chords...decent pop for grown ups.
