OMG I JUST finally saw she did this bc it didnt air with the final concert on PBS, and now you made a video of it?! What timing! Sara is truly in my top 5 fav voices of all time, I'm so glad you're studying her!
Oh my gosh, where have you been all my life?! I am a piano player and when a note is so perfect you get a glimpse into what heaven would be for me! You have a GORGEOUS voice and your expressions as you describe the music is how I feel the music. Subscribed subscribed subscribed !!

Sara first did this cover 11 years ago (video is still up on TH-cam!). Just her on the piano. It's an astonishing rendition--haunting, beautiful, and original spin on an already great song.
Yes! Still my favorite performance of this song--it was filmed in Atlanta. And just to be clear, this is SARA's arrangement. A lot of people have copied it and not given her credit. Elton John first heard this 11 years ago (as you said) and said he could stop performing this song just because he was so taken with her interpretation. Not only is her voice underrated (imo) but she has fantastic musicality and is a brilliant songwriter, penning the music for the Broadway musical Waitress. 💜 Excellent reaction!
When she first did this arrangement, it was just her at the piano. Elton John saw it and said it was the absolute best cover of this song he’s ever heard, and it’s not easy to cover. He then invited her to perform it with him at some fundraiser concert ❤
I love that we love all the same folks. Have you seen Girls 5 Eva? Could you do Tap In to Your Fort Worth from that show? The way her voice layers with Renee Elise Goldberry is so good. Honestly, I think Paula Pell on the contralto line in that song is just delightful.
Loved this. She has a performance of “come round soon” at variety playhouse that has been a favorite of mine for years. Would be interesting to hear your thoughts on the longer sustained but at the end of that one
Beautiful! ❤I love Sara’s voice! And I learn so much from watching you analyze. Have you ever heard of November Ultra? Her voice is so ethereal, breathy and just easy to get lost in. I love it! Please do a video of hers. Please. I would love to know what you think. ❤
Great video. Love your insight and voice. Could you maybe also check out Seinabo Sey if you have the time? Especially the live performance she did of still
Such an under appreciated singer. She’s amazing, consistent, great writer and performer
I really love her Otis Redding rendition of “Sitting on the dock of the Bay”.

Love Sara’s voice!! So underrated!!
Her arrangement is absolutely genius ❤
@@rellenoz she's hands down one of my favorite contemporary singer songwriters.
Yes she is! She had probably one of the most technically sound female voices of our time.
@@mishiwakkasame! And she’s so fun in concert

OK, you'll find an even better version here. Just Sara and solo piano. It's even more amazing. th-cam.com/video/Ozd2ja7mAgM/w-d-xo.html

Wonderful singer + wonderful song. I'm so glad you reacted to this. Absolutely LOVE Sara's version, so beautiful.
Baby listen... Sara is SO underrated! Made me forget about Elton. She gave the song a new injection of pain. So haunting.
She also covered the song previously and Elton mentioned that her cover was the BEST
Just love how your break down her performance and the joy you share in this video!! 🎉
