this shows the struggle people who make manga have to go through, on average they have to make around 100-300 pages to make a volume. Just imagine what she’s doing and then multiply it by 100-300 times, and more if one of the pages is not up to standard or damaged.
kianamv as a fellow mangaka/comic creator, normally when working on a manga we tend to pick up on ways to make page process faster and easier for deadlines, we don’t struggle per say but we do try our best to make pretty good quality art!
Now i hv more respect for manga artists...one page takes so long to draw n lots of patience is needed...i used to complain abt manga artists cuz the updates for new chapters took forever...

Chiba Ryunosuke the screentones have to come directly from japan so you need to find an online service to ship them to you, the ink I use is german so I canget it locally but you also might have to get it online.

I see that this video is getting a lot of attention again, please understand that this was made quite some time ago and that a lot has changed on my channel since then.
For starters, I actually *stopped drawing manga* all together, I decided that *american Comic* was a better choice for my art style as well as for my personal liking and my own comic that I am making.
That being said, I have unlisted most of my manga drawing videos besides a few exeptions because many people told me they were helpfull.
If you enjoy this I made a playlist with all my other Manga videos that you can find on my channel, however, there will not be any new Manga drawing videos on my channel in any future, only my comic drawings :)

Great artwork! What kind of paper are you using? And is that a blue lead pencil or a blue colored pencil?
Just a blue colored pencil, the paper in this video was just a bit of a thicker printer paper. but I would recommend using Multimedia paper. You can check my new tutorial where I talk about that now!
Hey Maddy, I know that I already told you but I wish I had your talent. If I had talent to draw I would be making Storyboards like they do in the Movies or even Comic Books. The only talent I have is Writing Stories but I always think they aren't good enough. Is that normal? Take care. :)

Rodrigo L. If you where going to print it traditionally in a magazine with low quality paper (as many of those manga magazines do), then it may be an issue. The same with coloring a comic traditionally with say, markers. Printing companies favors a certain way of doing it. But if you are posting it online or printing it yourself, you can do whatever you want.

I have this thing that all you need to do is add batteries and you switch a button and it lights up for you. And you don't even have to use clips because it sticks to the screen XD. And you don't have to worry about ruining the screen

I guess it means the people providing the scans

It means they are the ones buying the manga in japanese and then scanning it, then its sent to people who translate, edit the pages to look better and possibly redraw a few things and thenthe final look over where they look at any last mistakes that could have been done.

Mangakas have it tough and they don't even earn much considering many have theirs available online for free. Exceptions are those whose creations become well-known anime.
Sometimes I look at a right-handed person and I think,

I made a 61 page manga it took me about 2 and a half days cause every page takes me 3-4 hours somehow it makes me even more lazier to do more of them ..... I never use screen tone though I only shade it and draw other designs like flowers and candies,stars,etc the pen that I use is sign pen but it doesn't have ink cause we have an ink and I just dip and draw,gladly the sign pen's tip is only thin makes it easy to draw....
Luisa Lim the fountain pen I'm using is also to dip, there is a pen from Copic that feeds the ink but it's expensice and I prefer workinv with the G-pen nib
Akai Yuki -Manga art yes,my auntie has a g-pen I borrow it from her for a while it's more easier to use than the pen I use it's more thinner and it doesn't stain on the back of the paper it depends if you know how to use it properly though

Akuma Manuel haha it was a history book at some point yes but now it is only the cover, it has a texture and I put it underneath my paper and draw on top with a flat pencil to give some more effecs :)

Louis Martinez hmm I'd say about 3-4 hours ? It was my first time using the screentone method, and the sketching always takes longer :)

Louis Martinez it's still pretty long, imagine mangakas, they have to do it way quicker or else they would never be on time
oh god, i am not even professional, and one page takes me about 6-7 hrs to complete.
NyanHeadPhones i'm not pro either! My art has many mistakes in it because I have no patience... I do draw fast, but I know you can really see it, it's hard for me to be more precise and take more time, but it's gotten somuch better, I remember a time I couldn't even bare a second to erase the pencil correctly before rushing the colouring... You'll get faster with time

Maria Lopez it's a very big differnece, Manga is the drawn black and white comic and the anime is the moving picture on TV like disney :) anime and manga are still different from the conventional cominc and cartoon because they come from Japan :)

I'm an Mangka at night then I do the heavy job at morning using Tape then Cutting it with a blade is really bad for me, i just might Cut through the Paper too,
Jeshy yeah that might happen if your paper is too thin, you need to use at least 120g paper and with time you'll know how hard to press :)

i bought that iron pen,took me a lot of money , I used to thought that would help me more than a normal pen, very hard to use it, harder than line pen, wonder why?

Yeah its hard to use at first, it's the hardest one. You just have to practice, I can make a video on how to practice if you want :)
Valentine KM I realized that too, G pens are quite difficult to use but once you get the hint the results are beautiful, lines just become perfect, I'd only recomend to start cleaning the the nib a bit rubing it's back toward a dry disposable towel, then press the side edges to realign it, also test the trace in an test sheet before doing it on the actual drawing, AND I'd also recomend a lot to make your lines from bottom to top, it is way easier to control the pressure you aply to the nib when you draw that way. Hope my tips help you XD

방탄유진 i made the rough guidelines with blue and then the detailed lines with pencil so theres contrast between the two and so I don't have to cleanup the guidelines :)
