Who gave the planning permission for this building ? What kind of drainage design work used underneath the building ? The Highland Towers collapse occurred on 11 December 1993 in Taman Hillview, Ulu Klang, Selangor, Malaysia. Tower Block 1 collapsed from a major landslide. Water was diverted from a local stream called East Creek to bypass the building site. The piping was not strong enough to contain the extra water, mineral debris, sand, and silt from both the creek and the building site. The pipe burst at several locations, which resulted in Block 1 absorbing the excess water.

Hi sis. The landslide is not because of the pipe system under the building. There are 2 factors that lead to this disaster. 1st was a huge pipe leakage problem behind tower 1, the leakage water was made the sand become weaken and plus with heavy rain for the past 1 week, lead to the collapsed on the wall behind tower 1, which later made the sand below the tower one started to move and made the foundation of the building cracks and the tower collapsed. Another reason was, after clearing the tower 1 cracks, authorities found that the foundation of the building is not strong due to the mistake done by the engineer during building the tower. The engineer actually did cut-cost during making the foundation.

hello girl, the building collapsed not the main cause of what ever bocor u saying. Highland Towers collapse was caused by the instability of the pile foundation. The engineer was not considering the horizontal load during design foundation so when the rotational retrogressive slide occurs, this forward movement downhill created a surcharge load to the foundation.

I think there is another way bro, shortcut or something we need to figure out. Very recently my team also tried to go in through Taman Hillview's main entrance but was prohibited by guards. They told us that even media people are not allowed in. There are plans for the Ampang Majlis and other government bodies to demolish the blocks very soon, they just did site survey last month i think.
