    Steve is literally the MOST underrated Guitarist ever. It blows my mind that when i talk about him people got no idea who im talking about but nobody my age listens to billy n steve like i do. I do not know why this is real music. It is a dream of mine to play this song just like Steve does

    Steve Stevens is one of my favourite guitar players, along Steve Lukather and Eddie Van Halen, because he has that rare ability to write and arrange guitar parts that drive the tune and are as memorable, if not more, as the tune itself!

    Yo Steve ! Awesome man thanks for letting us hear the details. Love your playing and love the guitar tone . I use a KLoN to get that clean dirty BiTe. Absolutely always loved your tone and playing best of the 80’s. What great song writing from you, Billy and the band. 👍

    I've been a huge Steve Stevens fan ever since I first heard him. Last weekend my band was playing a festival...2500-3000 people. The second last song of our show we did a cover of Rebel Yell. I love playing that song, the intro riff, the solo....all of it. I suffered a heart attack right on the stage while playing that song. Got rushed to the hospital and made it. Love ya Steve!

      So Flo? I lived in Lauderdale to the Keys about 8 years restoring an old Sportfisher. Was thinking, this am, the same thing. I always said Billy picked up the torch Elvis laid down, and God bless S.S. for keeping it burning! haha... At 52, and a longtime guitarist and songwriter, not sure where I would have ended up without Chris Isaak, Setzer/Cats, and the myriad of insanely diverse and profound music that was offered to us. Hopefully this shutdown will thin the herd down dramatically, and only the best will surface... Marc

      Yeah, it was a 73 Post Sportfisher. Cedar Carvel planks over White Oak frames. Moved back to Mid Alabama, and preparing to reconnect with Nashville. Lived up there for about 11 years- meeting as many and learning as much pos. Left fairly bitter, but the So FL sunshine brought me back- wrote some of my best stuff down there... Take care and keep in touch. Marc

    Hi everyone. This brings back memories to me. Has anyone ever experienced this: ...???? _ You and your jamming buddies are ready to have fun and create a new masterpiece and you DO create something originally flawless but you can never recreate it again to where it has even a glimpse of the same majic..... - Three of us, in 1997 or so, had an Casio Keyboard with Drum patterns so I did Lead, guy did Keys and other did Bass. - We put an old Panasonic Tape Recorder in the middle of us and on top of a stool. - We made one of the very best instrumental songs of all time. - It was captured on a new Memorex Cassette tape. - Between us, we listened to it a hundred times. - It had so much feeling. - We tried a bit to recreate it but we quickly realized it was a waste of our time. - There's nothing like the first time. - All the minor imperfections in a song is the very thing that gives a song its unique flavor. - Thanks for uploading this. - JMc.

    • @RobinDale50
      @RobinDale50 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      There is a video of him showing how it's done, but basically you are playing 2 parts with your picking hand - plucking the high strings to get the staccato rhythm part while at the same time picking with a pick with your thumb/index finger to play the riff. It's tricky and takes some practice, I can barely do it and not as smooth as Steve.

    • @baby-sharkgto4902

      he uses a ray gun toy he bought for a few dollars, places it next to the guitar pickup - hence the pic in this video. If you are talking about 3:06, my guess is that he is using either one of those early Roland guitar synth, or the guitar Synth made by Casio in the early 80s

    Is there a particular reason why the doubled rhythm guitars have so much "punch" to them? I can physically feel my headphones and monitors pushing an absurd amount of air and yet these are just "guitars". I also can't figure out why these pro tracks have so much high end information that makes these guitars super open sounding. Every recorded cab I have heard sounds gritty and muffled, and EQing the high end up makes it brittle. We need answers Steve...
