It was jealousy, and how things quickly did a reverse. Dre left Deathrow with nothing while Suge was at the top of his game, and they already had problems. Then, when Suge got out of prison in 2001, Deathrow was dead, he was losing everything, while Dre had made a huge comeback, and his label was the biggest at the time.
19:36 He also released 6 songs in 2022 as part of a Grand Theft Auto Online Update that was focused around helping him recover unreleased songs that were stolen. Fun Fact: For a while (I can't remember if it was a week or month) these songs could only be listened to whilst in game after you help him recover all the songs but they did end up releasing them everywhere after that.
I've been listening to Dr Dre NWA and the whole West Coast gangster s***, since 1986. To me in my opinion? The Chronic 2001, go so motherfuking hard that you can listen to it from the beginning to the end without skipping anything a definite masterpiece! 🎼🎼🎤🎙️♥️
This was a great video! I really only heard 2 things wrong back to back. The first thing was you mentioned Detox came to light in 2007. Eminem shouted out Detox in 2004 at the end of his Encore album. Then the second thing was you stated this year was 2004 instead of 2024. Other than that, great video and keep it up!
@@alexiscardoso1413 I always felt like that Compton album he released was Detox, but he changed the title because he knew it would never live up to the hype
Detox was actually first mentioned around 2002. I remember him talking about it right around the same time The Eminem Show dropped. It was supposed to be some sort of story album or playing out like a movie. That;s the crazy part... people waited so long lol
This album defined Dre's career above anything else. His production run in the 2000s in the wake of this album is unprecedented (with the exception of Scott Storch). It's also the best mixed/mastered album I've ever heard. I always use the instrumental version of the album as a reference for speakers/headphones.
@@prof3ssor178 DOC in the recent interview of Drink Champs said that Detox is still there but Dre isn’t working on it. Maybe we will hear something after they release Snoop’s Missionary album in November.
Big Ego's. Favorite instrumental on the album. The drums with the massive kicks, the looming bassline, the eery piano keys, the mesmerizing guitar strums in the start and during the chorus. Most underrated song on the album.

Best Nate verse IMO

The fact Eminem wrote The Watcher and Jay Z wrote Still DRE.tells you the level of MC he had on that album writing West Coast Classics.
@@KINGMONKEY1989 album full of classics
Yup! Eminem wrote many verses on The Chronic 🌴 2001
Like Royce 5'9
Em wrote ‘Let’s get high’ too. You can easily tell when you listen to it.
Crazy how Dre gets a pass for having writers but not Drake
Still don't get why suge knight spent years hating on Dre when he could have been doing something else

detox was rumored and pretty widely discussed since like 2000/2001 (the years ofc)
Love Dre and Eminem together. What’s the Difference is one of my favorites

The Game mentioned Detox on Higher from The Documentary
Dre himself was the one who mentioned it on the song. Shame the album got scrapped in the end.

It's about 5 good songs on Dr.Dre presents the Aftermath and the intro is dope
Every summer I play this there’s nothing like playing this in LA and the summertime
My favorite song from 2001 is “Hello” with MC Rens and Ice Cube
"Hello" wasn't on 2001, it was the first track on Ice Cube's "War & Peace 2" album. That song is a classic, though.
