- This is the easiest technique to catch winter bass! Winter bass fishing can be tough as the water is so cold, the fish become hard to find and inactive. This technique catches a lot of winter bass as you can fish it where they go in the winter and fish it slow enough for them! Hey Nate. once again great stuff! While you’re in Florida don’t be shy about throwing that swim bait. The only difference I would get rid of the light head and Rig it on an ewg hook. The coolest thing to do is to take a Keitech and rig it Upside down with the paddle tail pointing up. Throw that around shallow cover and it will work just like a subtle buzz bait! You’ll be surprised

Great informative video as always bro. The 6 has really hand selected a killer team. You were a damn good pick up. Anyway I live in NC and am originally from FL. Sooooo different fishing. Please help! We have some good smallmouth bass / spotted bass lakes/rivers. Most of them are deep. 20-60+ ft. I was using this technique with a 1/4 oz jig head but feel like it's not working for me. Do you suggest a heavier jig head? Any suggestions for smallies in lake James? This transition has been tough for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Try a spoon or hover rigging and 3/4 swim jig also heavy Ned just some thoughts hope they help
Never fished that lake specifically but I have a few videos on the channel highlighting smallmouth content that should definitely help! Learn to get comfortable with spinning rods and finesse baits!
Nathan, we are thawed here in NJ. Last week we had 2 inches of ice in South Jersey but, warm rains and temps have thawed everything. Caught a 3.5 on a jerk bait and a few on the TRD. Any Winter drop shot fishing tips? Can't seem to get bit on it after catching plenty this past Summer on it. Have fun in Florida!

Hey Nate. forgot to tell you if you use it weightless and upside down throw it on a spinning rod 7 foot medium action 15 pound braid to 8 pound mono I found his work the best

Nathan. So if I understood correctly: this technique only work in the south and in the middle part of the country where the water is still not frozen. Is that correct? What about here up north Lake in Wisconsin, Oregon, Illinois, where there are still Riverside have not frozen because of flowing water. Will this techniques to work?
If you still have open water it will absolutely still work!

I like your explanations but screwing the swimbait on the jig head with a hook sticking out of it doesn't compute to me. Could you please show us how to actually mount the swimbait on the jig. Keep the videos coming.

Shimano reels make Lews feel like a joke of a company. Every Lews reel I have had besides the speed spool lfs, are all trash. an slx is $99 and a better reel than they’re high dollar reels.
I like my lfs and my slx!
I never do this with open hooks, I personally use the owner flashy swimer or the vmc underspins because you can rig them weedless . My pb is 6.8 pounds on an 8/0 vmc underspin with a 5.75 rage tail swimbait.
That works too! I fish a lot of open water!
