Friendly fun fact... until last year, everyone said "Seven win Sark." As a Texas fan, the first years were tough. We had been through so much, the coaching carousel, we knew we had to support Sark despite the disappointment. Im not fully convinced that Elko will be a top tier coach, but you have to give him a chance. We Texas fans would have been thrilled to have a season like Aggs year one of Sark.

Okay, be realistic. The last decade was Alabama's decade and A&M had to play them along with LSU every year (same division). Both won national titles. This is the first year with the expansion of the SEC that A&M didn't have to play both teams in the same year. I agree that this was a missed opportunity and a lot of Aggies are frustrated and disappointed. Elko and his coaching staff created hope in year 1 with the 5-game SEC win streak and then failed spectacularly in the last 3 SEC games. Texas just recently been good. They were terrible in the Big 12. They never had to deal with eventual champions in their old conference. So the narrative of A&M's in the SEC for 13 years and never been to the SEC Championship while Texas in year one accomplished that is over-simplifying it. There's more to it than that. Don't forget that Mizzou went to I believe two SEC Championships because their in the East when the East was terrible. Elko has next year to show progress. If not, he will be on the hot seat after year two. I think A&M supporters now have short patience after the Jimbo debacle and will demand results with the amount of dollars pouring into the program.

Here's my two cents... Elko has done a fine job getting the program where it is now. This past game was a indicaative game of who had a better line on both sides of the ball. We got dominated on both. Out muscled, out hustled, out skilled... Probably because of things like time and recruiting constraints outside of Elko's power. But moving forward I hope he can be a coach who not only recruits well but works with what he has by developing 3 and 4 star recruits into NFL talent. You do that by strength and conditioning and teaching skill. That is what good coaching is after all. We seem to have over looked that between Sumlin and Fisher...

  • @Btglow87
    @Btglow87 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Klein pulled a guard on the 1ft line. That is such a bad football decision from a scheme standpoint vs a goal line gapped up look it's hard to even rationalize a reason he thought that was a good decision. I thought 3rd and 6 speed option into the boundary vs Auburn was his worse play call. Nope this was. He has a horrible tendency to needlessly pull linemen when it doesn't help the play develop. He has a very heavy tendency of running the ball into the boundary. He doesn't attack the middle of the field and Texas knew that and voided the middle of the field daring us to attack it and we never did. Coach Klein is fairly young and hopefully if he is still here next year he does a lot of self scouting and progresses as a play caller.
Defenses main issue is we are stuck in the weak eagle 4-2-5 front. Which means we are going to try to defend a run game of 7 guys with 6... that is a hard ask against a talented team and our adjustment this season was to make the weak safety step up and fill (didn't work vs south carolina). If we are going to be a 4-2-5 defense without too many adjustments ..... then we need to go find an Antonio Johnson type to player... that can fill the "Star" position. This year we didn't have one... so we played a 4-2-5 with a true nickel and the issue there is...... a true cover nickel isn't going to be able to play the C gap like a sam linebacker vs a pro set... We had BJ try to do that last night and that's just not fair to that kid ... to ask him to do something he wasn't recruited to do. So we are either going to have to adjust the scheme to fit our personnel better or find a player in the portal, high school, or develop one this offseason who can fit that missing position. Every good team we played attacked the nickel and the weak side run because of our inability to bump the backers weak since they had to play strong side run... because the nickel was pass first in responbility. Once teams found that inflexiblity they made us pay for it over and over.

He wanted A&M to get the best players, but he wouldn't bullshit his rankings to inflate a guy who he was pretty sure was going to be an Aggie. He didn't downgrade Texas recruits just because he wanted to see the Horns fail.

Do Aggies go to Longhorn pages and run their yaps like this? If they do they’re just as classless as the Longhorn fanbase.

Time to look at becoming an Independent. A&M can afford it, and the programs backing wouldn't decrease. Its worth a look.

@mindblown5018 It's not running away, it's about chess moves. A&M is better than t.u., when t.u. isn't close. Look at how the separation went for those 13 years. Had they played then, A&M would've won 8 out of those 13.
But A&M can't go now anyway. Being in the SEC allows them a place at the table when the music stops playing for every other conference.

The more I sit with the loss the more frustrated I am with the refs. Look Texas was clearly the better team but that 1 missed holding call feels like it would have changed the whole game.

    • @bradj8215

Ya that one missed call was the difference. It wasn’t the fact your offense couldn’t move the ball and you gave up 200 rushing yards while being dominated on both sides of the line. 😂

I saw about thirty no-calls on Aggie players for very obvious holding, unnecessary roughness (DB suplexing WRs in the endzone), and 2-3 missed illegal man downfield penalties on their OL-men. All uncalled. Missed calls happen in every game, and that one missed call in the early 1st quarter didn't lose that game for you goobers. 🤘

13 year wait to play Texas and not score on offense against us? Here’s one for the reality check column:
    Texas A&M CONFERENCE WIN %
    SEC (12 years): 57-47 (.548)
    Big 12 (16years): 68-61 (.527)
You are who you always have been.
Per the data. Oh also, you talk about moss being out. Take the L. Cedric Baxter says hi. Our top backs been out all year.
Cheers and genuinely nice to have this game back.
