I’ve been a Quinn critic. He took that game over in overtime, we are one win from a national championship, just threw for over 300 yards and three touchdowns! The dude’s gonna be playing on Sundays whether y’all like it or not!
@@johnmassie348Quinn had a critical blitz recognition and protection change on the 4th and 13 play that gave him enough time to make the throw. That 2 pt conversion in 2OT was by no means wide open
@@johnmassie348 the complete quote was “took over the game in overtime”. That 4th and 13 throw and setup leading up was the most clutch play of the CFP so far. He essentially threw 3 TDs in a row (counting the 2 point conversion). That’s taking the game over.
Calling it now. Quinn is gonna go and beat his former team in front of his highschool home crowd in Dallas. Poetic as hell. Also how many times does a team get a chance to beat both Ohio State and Michigan in one year? Just B1G teams, right? But how often do even they get to do that?
@@tyronemaroney335 Why should I care what they had to say? They ain't us. I'm sure Ohio State fans are saying the same exact thing I'm saying, but about themselves. I’ve never experienced a game quite like this one y’all. I’ve been apart of some wild ones and have seen some crazy games, but this might take the cake. I’ve never felt more safe and secure knowing Texas would win at one point and then the next thing you know I just knew in my soul we were not going to win after that pre snap penalty on 4th and 8.. Then boom Texas settled down and did what needed to be done. Freakin Bert Auburn man.. is there no one else that can kick at the university of Texas? I’m afraid it’s gone full mental at this point.
I’m definitely betting the over on OSU over Texas. Longhorns have no chance. They haven’t made any adjustments all season. This is all on the coaching staff
@ I think they’re spread too thin. It’s one thing to rebuild which they’ve done a fantastic job but to maintain a large scale team powerhouse there are scalability issues. I feel like they need a true OC. Sark is an Elite program builder. Defensive staff are flawless imo. But it’s obvious the offense is disorganized and have not corrected mistakes.
Penalties were a huge impact on the game and killed drives. ASU played strong. We fell for that fake punt again. Defense played well in red zone and pressure on the QB. Skattabo was huge. We are happy. Felt like Sark took his foot off the gas and started to be conservative. Quinn didn't play too bad he missed a real deep shot. ASU shut down our running game. They did what GA did and came through the holes vacated by pulling guards to get to our backs in the backfield. ASU was also covering our backs on the wheel routes. But deeper receivers were open or single covered. Tough game. Pass protection was darn good and backs picked up blitz.
Offense really let team down. Defense played well even when tired but finally they were just exhausted. Texas cannot do that vs. OSU. Ewers couldn’t get the ball to the deep guys after the 1st drive. Except OT that is. If Ewers throws some better balls early it is a quick blow out.
Great win , but we need killer instinct , I hope this is the wake up call that the team needs, can’t keep letting teams Hang around , it almost cost you
We are not beating OSU if the QB and offense are this inconsistent. From the 3rd offensive play until about 5 min left in the 4th Ewers and the offense were just piss poor. Very happy they stepped out up in the last 5 min and OTs, but cannot afford that again. Thing is Ewers doesn't this almost every game. Has done it every game since Florida. It may be too much to expect him to be different. No matter what happens I'll be glad to never see another Ewers snap at Texas once the season is done. Just way too inconsistent, immoble, and poor on the deep ball. With this level of defense, you need a mobile playmaker that can put up consistent offense. I think part of Sark's problem is the limitations of Quinn holding back what he could do calling the game
I agree with his lack of mobility and how important that is in cfb but just remember to consider Quinn is 3rd all time in passing yards and tds in UT history. We gotta appreciate what’s happening now. And as the late great DKR once said, “dance with who brung ya”
I like B-Rob and was a great player. Wtf is he talking about though. Leavitt avg 4.8 ypa and the leading Wr had 42 yds. The two biggest passing plays were by Skattebo and the punter😂😂
This is what I have for targeting. Please tell me if this is correct. In college football, a targeting penalty is a rule designed to enhance player safety by penalizing dangerous hits, particularly those involving the head or neck area. The penalty is called when a player uses the crown of their helmet to hit an opponent or when they make forcible contact to an opponent's head or neck area, especially if the opponent is in a defenseless position. Key Points of Targeting: Crown of the Helmet: It is targeting if a player deliberately uses the top (crown) of their helmet to strike an opponent. Defenseless Player: It is targeting if a player hits a defenseless opponent in the head or neck area with force, using the helmet, forearm, hand, fist, elbow, or shoulder. Intent Does Not Matter: The penalty can be called even if the action was not intentional. What matters is the nature of the contact. Penalty for Targeting: 15-Yard Penalty: The offending team is penalized 15 yards. Ejection: The player committing the foul is ejected from the game. If the targeting happens in the second half, the player is also suspended for the first half of the next game. Video Review: All targeting calls are subject to mandatory video review to confirm the foul. The targeting rule has been controversial because of its subjective nature, but it has been implemented to reduce the risk of serious injuries, particularly concussions and spinal damage.
Will Howard is not as quick as Klubnik or Leavitt. Our DEs and LBs should actually be able to get Howard to the ground IF we can cover their WRs long enough. J. Smith needs to be double covered every play.
