Most of those guys are villains in their movies. We all know they’re good at being evil. Alan Rickman especially I usually immediately think of villain characters he’s played. He’s a very nice guy in real life and has plenty of good people in his acting roles but the first two-three movies I ever saw him in were villain roles and he absolutely crushed them

Elijah Wood should be on this list. The guy who played Frodo Baggins should not be able to be utterly terrifying in roles and yet he does so with aplomb. In Sin City and Maniac, to name but a few.

The Netflix Death Note live action may suck big time. He plays a awesome shimigami in Ryuk. You can't tell difference with the animated/manga version with the live action. For a death god he wants some fun just sowing some little chaos with Light Yagami. Well Light may be the villian of the series, but Ryuk just did it, because of boredom and didn't even try stop Light, just told him go have some fun and go crazy but be realistic when you kill them.
I also think you missed many greats.. Denzell, Deniro, and Sam have many great performances but Glen Close, Willem Dafoe, Gary Oldman, Kathy Bates, JK Simmons, and Christopher Walken should be included. Maybe redo and expand to 25.
I can only think of one edgy role for Steve Martin...as Jimmy Dell in The Spanish Prisoner. He doesn't even do anything really evil...he just manifests a chilling dark vibe. Gives me the shivers just thinking of it 😱
Mark Rolston. I first saw him playing a villain in Lethal Weapon 2. He's played villains in several other movies since then, especially The Shawshank Redemption. The man certainly knows how to come across as smoothly menacing, creepy, or downright evil. Brilliant actor.
Jim Carrey when he played villains like the Riddler from Batman Forever, the Grinch from How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and Count Olaf A Series of Unfortunate Events. Another example would be the late Donald Sutherland when portraying President Snow from The Hunger Games. J.K. Simmons as that bad tempered college conductor from Whiplash. And Eva Green from 300: Rise of an Empire who I think would make a great portrayal as other villainesses.
Giancarlo Esposito he is one the best in villian roles with that serious poker face that he has. I would not even dare to cross him, you can tell he can screw you over 1 million diffrent ways

Russel was a stand out villain in the long forgotten Frequency alongside Denzel Washington and his laugh is right up there with the maniacal maniacs. Also, Decaprio was both hero and villain as a young man playing twin characters in Man in the Iron Mask. Also, how could you not include Heath on this list since before Dark Knight no one thought of him as villain material in any way shape or form but oh did he surprise in all the best ways.
