yoo this is just what i needed. I downloaded Obsidian but i keep procrastinating on actually getting started because of how daunting it is. seeing someone who writes and worldbuilds to your extent of detail turns out to be exactly what i needed to really feel motivated and get started transferring all my writing. Thank youuu king!!
Been using Notion for around 5 years now. I've tried branching out or switching what I use to plan/organize my stories, but none really stuck with me. Had never actually head of Obsidian before this, but it seems genuinely useful! Will probably check it out, especially now that I'm starting a new writing project this year!
@@Saurx Hopefully you get some use out of it if you do decide to use it! It’s been pretty helpful/fun for me so far. Thanks for checking out the video :)))
I have never heard of Obsidian, but consider me intrigued! I have done worldbuilding before and was using Evernote, but a lot of my notes corrupted which was a huge pain. I ended up losing most of the information for the fantasy world I'd built and set my DnD games in. At least it wasn't a novel! I've been writing things set in our more modern world, but I could see how this could be super useful to keep track of things. I also have a fantasy trilogy lingering in my periphery. Maybe this will give me the boost I need to actually getting started with it. Thanks for the recommendation! I'd honestly love to see more videos about this :D
I created a city for my Mystery/Thriller novel using a template I made in Obsidian, so really, you can use it for any genre you're writing. At it's core, Obsidian is a note-taking app, so whatever notes you have can be stored there. Also, I'm definitely open to making more videos about Obsidian! Thanks for watching :)
This was super interesting! I loved seeing the animation with the connections being made. I had tried Obsidian once but I wasn't really getting it. When I get back into worldbuilding for bigger projects I'll probably try it again and see how good it works.
What’s your favorite worldbuilding tool to use?

You're welcome! Thank YOU for checking out my video :)
This was very informative. Definitely going to check out Obsidian. Great video!
I think you'd get a lot of use out of it, CJ!
This was done really well. Obsidian makes a lot more sense than keeping everything in my head or in a few pages in Scrivener. 😊
@@IHBooks Thank you! I’ve never used Scrivener but it seems like a lot of people use it. Maybe I should check it out.

I personally still use google drive but seeing obsidian is really cool. Especially the time lapse animation
@QueenViolet I still use Google Drive as well, but Obsidian is slowly taking over my life. The timelapse animation is one my favorite features.

Hopefully you're able to figure it out! Obsidian does have a bit of a learning curve at first, but once you get it down, it's pretty simple to use.
