Obsidian with plugins like Excalidraw, Cannoli, Templater, Dataview etc + a local server to run functions with Cannoli is my go to automation platform. It’s unbelievable how powerful Obsidian can become with a little technical ability and motivation. Great video and workflow, thanks for sharing.
There are so many use cases for this. With the video transcripts and summaries, already searching for keywords on excalidraw-obsidian.online/ is so helpful. Downloading podcast channels for topics you are interested in has so much potential for learning.
Ok this might be the coolest application that I have come across in a long while. For a few years now I have been trying to figure out how to catalogue you tube videos into a condensed library where I can recall the specific reference to an excel routine, you know that one that does ... . This might be the closest thing yet to my answer. I am pretty much a newbie to Obsidian and mesmerized by its functionality. Marrying in AI is mind blowing. Looking forward to learning where you are going with this. Unfortunately Jan 11 in my time zone won't work for me, so will be looking for the replay.
That's really interesting! I figure we could do this quickly but that is a bit faster than I thought. I'm going to test this out and I'll be at the Techno-Visual PKM Launch session.
YT processing (scripts + AI) alone is a fantastic option on its own. NotebookLM option, assuming one can add docs and books on subject, is a truly mind-blowing fusion. Soon it (cloud) might be less and less needed.
Extending this idea into capturing all reachable insights of person X would be cool. Tweets, blog posts, newsletters, etc. Could make for interesting discussions
Yes, you can adapt the script to work for TH-cam search results instead of channels by modifying the API call. The TH-cam Data API allows you to perform searches using the search endpoint. Here's how you can adjust your script: Steps to Adapt for Searches 1. Replace the channelId parameter with a q parameter to specify the search query. 2. Add any additional filters like type=video to ensure you only get video results. 3. Handle the results similarly, extracting the required data from each video.
Maybe I misunderstood, but from the video, I thought you said you were providing the scripts used to produce this, but the only download link present is for the output files after processing. Where is the other link?
check closely. There are two download links. One is the download for the training file. The other is a registration for the Techno-Visual PKM launch. Those who register for the Techno-Visual PKM Community launch get access to the Demo Vault. After the launch on 11 January, I will add the demo vault to the training files on ko-fi.
Good video. Can you please provide the link to that TH-cam Downloader Vault - the scripts you used to create data based on Nicole's channel? I think the kofi link doesn't have that code
That is a great question... I wasn't planning to publish it, but make it available in the Techno-Visual community, but I'll think about it. Recording and publishing might not be such a bad idea, but I need to get everyone's consent...
Super cool! I'm going to give this a go, a very creative workflow. Zsolt, are you familiar with the idea of retrieval augmented generation? It's a similar idea as this, but the AI is connected to a database of notes to supplement base knowledge. No limit to a number of notes, can be run on an entire vault or external files, and could be run with local AI or any of the frontier models (personal preference for Claude for complex synthesis). IBM has great videos on the topic! th-cam.com/video/T-D1OfcDW1M/w-d-xo.htmlsi=1V1A1NwZgGm4kSaP th-cam.com/video/0z9_MhcYvcY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=spq1w-U1p5NZmEYA
Thanks, watched both of these videos. Very informative. I also loved the visual delivery of both of these videos. I'll try to create a similar video with Excalidraw... though for the type of presentation in the video you probably need a proper professional studio... As for RAGs, indeed we have had a few projects at work building different RAGs for Finance, HR, helpdesk, etc. NotebookLM looks like a typical RAG. Unfortunately, NotebookLM does not currently have a public API (not that I know of anyway), else I can see how I could build an ARAG using AI for Templater in Obsidian. Love the concept. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for sharing your ideas, and all the hard works you do for the community. Your resources have helped me(virtually) a lot in improving myself.
Awesome work Zsolt. This will be useful for finding information easier without clicking on multiple videos. Thank you for sharing :)

Thank you so much ! You amaze me every time !
Superb job! Seems like a great workflow!

Wow, now that's beyond genius! 🤯

Very interesting. Thanks for Sharing Zsolt! Looks like an awesome way to compress YT channels into useful insights

Estou adorando poder acompanhar seu canal aqui do Brasil atrás da tradução instantânea 🙏🇧🇷 parabéns
The auto translation is magic!
super cool, thanks for sharing this and your hard work. ❤
This is awesome!, is there a way to Make it work for searches instead of channels?, it would be Nice to analyze a number of videos frol a search
Yes, you can adapt the script to work for TH-cam search results instead of channels by modifying the API call. The TH-cam Data API allows you to perform searches using the search endpoint. Here's how you can adjust your script:

2. Add any additional filters like type=video to ensure you only get video results.
3. Handle the results similarly, extracting the required data from each video.
Awesome Zsolt. Can you do just playlists from a channel, instead of full channel?
I would think yes. Depends on the youtube API, but I'd be surprised if that weren't possible
annoying that YT changed the URLs. /c/ seems to be gone on my end. Now it's just "@" and sometimes that doesn't convert to their channel.
Yeah - Google has a tendency to change and retire things too frequently.
Maybe I misunderstood, but from the video, I thought you said you were providing the scripts used to produce this, but the only download link present is for the output files after processing. Where is the other link?

I will be sharing the demo vault as part of the Techno-Visual PKM Community. There is a link for that as well in the video description.
Will the launch session be recorded and published? My best friend is getting married next Saturday

@@VisualPKM Absolutely! Happy to share, thanks for your response. Least I can do after recently beginning to get deeper into Excalidraw!
