Lol it does look like a lot but I had it on the fine spray setting. Covers very well and I like the no touch aspect of it. Does ok for trim but not that great. Same with tires, it's just ok. Engine bay is great tho. You're trying megs and I wanna try Adam's lol. It's decent stuff for the price and diluting it is what makes it awesome and last a long time.
@@YellowVette04 do you mind me asking this question, I was under the hood wanting to change the air filter I noticed that the oem box was replaced with one of those dual cold air cones things, in your opinion which is better? If I keep what I have are those easy to maintain? Thanks
Thanks man. I picked up a lot of these tips and supplies from various youtubers. These products may not be the best but they do the job and the price is right.
I posted on one of your videos a few days ago I picked up a millenium yellow 02 Vette recently, electronics and sensors and stuff that can go wrong I want to clean my engine bay but I've been scared to, I've been thinking about taking mine to a detailing shop and having it steam cleaned. If I do that after I get it back I'll probably use a plastic / vinyl / rubber conditioner and use a brush and just treat the hoses and plastic pieces and stuff, still thinking about it.
You can definitely take it to a detailer and they'll do anything you ask for. I understand that cleaning it can worry you but you have nothing to worry about. All components in the engine bay are designed to get wet from splashing water. Splashing water is going to happen when you drive it, unless you don't take it out when there's water on the road. Just don't soak anything or apply to much water pressure to connectors and other components. You could also spray cleaner in a rag and just wipe down every surface. Either way you'll like a clean engine bay better. Good luck with the car and nice color.
Yes, the PCM is under the battery. Those cable connections are water tight. You don't want to overdo it with water, but rinsing is fine. The engine bay gets wet when driving, so it's all made to get wet.
The drain udders under the cowl are really important. Depending on the previous owner they're either empty or packed full. If packed full, you run into issues with water. Just make sure all 4 are clear. One on passenger side and 3 on driver's th-cam.com/video/Sr9rSAW1kzE/w-d-xo.html
I definitely want to get one of these for my gf. I gave my brother my first car (Red 1995 Corvette lt1). I have my c6 ls3. I really want one of these for my gf as a surprise. Was also going to ask... where did you buy your headers? Texas speed doesnt show anything for headers for ls3 c6.
Got em from TSP, here's a link for their C6 headers and offroad x-pipe. Select the year range in the drop down. I don't see a catted x-pipe version. www.texas-speed.com/p-3198-tsp-c6-corvette-1-78-long-tube-header-3-off-road-x-pipe-package-w-02-extensions.aspx
Welcome to the vette community. You'll love the car. The Corvette Forum and TH-cam have a lot of info if you ever need it. Good luck with it and thanks for watching.
Texas Speed headers, Texas Speed Catted X-Pipe and Billy Boat Bullets. If you're just doing an axle back the bullets will be a nice upgrade with a little drone. If you're going to do headers back then the drone gets pretty bad, but I didn't mind it. Now I have a BTR Stage 2 cam and it really drones lol. I will probably change out the bullets to something else down the road just to limit the drone.
TSP headers, TSP catted x-pipe and Billy Boat Bullets. It drones but I don't mind it at all. I plan on making a video soon because I get this question a lot.
Water splashes into the engine bay when driving on mostly ever car. All electrical connections are water tight. Just as long as you don't use a pressure washer to vigorously and spray water into the intake you'll be OK. Thanks for watching
First time Corvette owner - 2004 convertible. Followed your instructions exactly, and dammmmm...that engine bay looks awesome! THANKS! Here's the end result: drive.google.com/file/d/191YAza_i8xwcjbsnSXcVgElZTap8F_F-/view?usp=sharing.
You've been using the wrong type of dressing. Use a water based dressing that isn't greasy and you'll be fine. Many water based dressings dry to the touch and there is no residue left behind. Whatever dust and dirt that is in your engine bay, would be there regardless.
Thanks everybody for watching. This is the worst the engine bay has been since I got it. Nothing a little spray and scrub can't handle though.
Awesome bro!! I was thinking, damn that’s a lot of dressing!!!! Turned out great. Have to pick up some of that. I have the meguires degreaser already.

Doing my own this year. Amazon sent me The dressing but it was an empty bottle from the description link. Did I miss something ?
Like all your vids, picked up some good tips, I just purchased a 98 C5

Thanks I have my first car show this weekend and I wanted to clean my engine bay. Love your videos! So helpful.
Good luck at the show! Thanks for watching and I appreciate the comment

Engine bay looks good! Nice work. 👍 That neighbor’s sand pit would be the death of me.
Thanks man. He's out there right now making a dust cloud. I'll have to do this again next week lol.
What a difference! Engine looks spotless. Good work.
Thanks buddy. Hate how it got that bad but what can ya do. Thanks as always 👍

Thanks. Lots of help so when I clean my engine.
Not too bad off Process, just don't overly soak it with water. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
I know that my 2002 C5 has a computer board right under the battery cage. Do I have to worry about that getting wet accidentally?
Yes, the PCM is under the battery. Those cable connections are water tight. You don't want to overdo it with water, but rinsing is fine. The engine bay gets wet when driving, so it's all made to get wet.
The utters if they get clogged is what causes water to get inside correct Dave?
Correct, could also cause wiper motors to short out.
@@YellowVette04 I'm giving you the name now you're going to become the C5 encyclopedia :)
I've been called worse lol
This is informative. I need to do the same to mine. Thanks.

I didn't either until I had a puddle of water in my passenger footwell which could have been a lot worse.

I've been afraid to spray down the engine bay so I avoid it. Maybe now I won't have to 😁
You'll be ok, just don't overly soak anything. Cover exposed air filter if you have one and caution around the alternator. You'll be fine.
YellowVette04 thanks for the tips! My motor thanks you too haha
😂
I have the car what exhaust do you have on it? I still have stock want to change it
Texas Speed headers, Texas Speed Catted X-Pipe and Billy Boat Bullets. If you're just doing an axle back the bullets will be a nice upgrade with a little drone. Nice work but try using S100 engine brighter or Black on Black. Spray on & drys instantly. I use it on every engine I detail
I'll definitely look into it. Thanks for the product recommendation and thanks for watching
Dave, what kind of exhaust do you have on your vette and how the drone in the cabin is?
TSP headers, TSP catted x-pipe and Billy Boat Bullets. It drones but I don't mind it at all. I plan on making a video soon because I get this question a lot.
A leaf blower? You need a $2300 Master Blaster !
Hahahaha I like my $20 leaf blower
Cool process!
Thanks man. I see that hood popped all the time on yours and it's always looking good.
Great video!
Thanks man. It's a simple process.
Looks great!!
Thanks and thanks for watching 👍
Looks a lot better. What was for dinner? 😉
Lol I don't even remember
No problem leaving alternator uncovered?
Modern alternators can get wet. I wouldn't soak it, but as long as your cautious around it you'll be ok. Putting a bag over it would be fine too.
@@YellowVette04 Thanks, Great vids!
Thanks for the continued support 👍
i would be petrified of doing this.... figure the water can't be good to be sprayed on like that anywhere in/on the engine and all its parts

Nice job, the camaro needs a bath.
Give the lady in the red dress a bath.
@@YellowVette04 haha. Awesome.
I always use my vacuum cleaner to get the trash off of the cowl screen.

Never use dressing on an engine bay ! All that does is attract more dust and dirt!!!

hit it with air first
