Hm. Time for some lore. The last match of the show before it was cut short was between Shawn Michaels and Randy Orton. The match was going smoothly until the 10-minute mark when the zombie showed up. HBK didn't notice at first but definitely did after Orton started to shout to the commentary “There's a f*cking zombie in here. WE NEED TO GET OUT!!!”. Meanwhile backstage William Regal was continuously saying “What's going on?!” in confusion. The zombie made its way backstage but Regal punk'd bro out with the brass knucks. The zombie was only stunned, so it started to cause havoc in the arena, and Orton just GTFO'd outta there. (You would expect Randy to act differently nowadays but this is 2004 when he was kinda struggling with attitude problems). Raw's feed cut off as the zombie and Jerry Lawler reportedly began brawling, with several close calls for both The King and Jim Ross. The brawling remained lost into the annals of time, with only a few newspaper images here and there. So uhh, that's the lore I made up.
I can just imagine hearing Jerry Lawler’s screams as the zombies break into the arena, then Shawn Michaels just absolutely Sweet Chin Musics them all, one by one.
*I’m just imagining…* You’re sitting in your room, all the windows and entrances are barricaded. The room is completely silent, you have absolutely nothing else but your TV, remote and a couple rations to keep you held off for a few months all stocked up in the fridge, as well as a fully functioning satellite dish you’ve just restored, no guns. No defenses, just you. And the TV.
Whenever this series of connected videos wraps up, please put them into one big playlist for future reference. I’d like to go back and be able to see how things progressed.
Lore time anyone?.. No one?... Okay, let me do the honors then. LORE TIME: 0:01am: Oh shit, not wrestling! Anything but that! The episode of RAW that didn't start yesterday just begun with empty seats, black ropes and all that. And that's nothing compared to the American situation. There are even wild rumors coming out like New York City being cut-off from the rest of the nation... And the world I guess. Again, just a rumor.
I’m imagining seeing the Sky Sports technical difficulties screen over the sounds of zombie’s teeth tearing into flesh and the unmistakable sound of Jerry “The King” Lawler screaming. EDIT: This would come after Jerry fights off some of the zombies while JR helps him out, they wouldn’t be the first to die or anything. Apologies if my first comment made it seem that way.

Main event was Undertaker vs an undead Shawn Michaels for the then-vacated WWE Championship because the champion then, Eddie Guerrero was forced to relinquish his title after being infected by the zombie horde on the way to the arena. (This is not meant to be insensitive, Eddie just so happened to be WWE Champion back then before it was won by JBL at The Great American Bash later on that month.)
The aftermath of this (that I completely made up so forgive any inconsistencies) The main event of RAW that night was Kane vs JBL (John Bradshaw Layfield) for the WWE Championship. The bell rang and the match went on as normal. Eventually, the barrier protecting Madison Square Garden from the zombies would not hold up much longer, and before long, the undead would start bolting their way towards the arena, entering the actual arena the same way the wrestlers would. The first of the WWE personnel to notice the zombie invasion were JR and Jerry Lawler, who stood on top of the announcer's table and pulled out weapons that they had snuck into the arena for self defense. The match was then stopped as the zombies started to crawl into the ring. Jerry presented two guns each, one for JBL and one for Kane, and the four used their weapons to fight off the aggressive horde. The show had to go off the air by this point to prevent the network from pulling Raw altogether, like they almost did during the Brian Pillman/Stone Cold Steve Austin angle. With many lives lost, many people infected, including JBL and most shocking of all, Mr. McMahon himself, and millions of dollars worth of damage caused to Madison Square Garden, June 15th 2004 would go down in history as one of the darkest days in the history of professional wrestling, right up there with Owen Hart's accidental death at Over The Edge '99 in Kansas City's Kemper Arena, D'Lo Brown accidentally paralyzing Droz after a powerbomb gone horribly wrong, Eddie Guerrero's unfortunate passing just a year later, and just two years later, the dark, disturbing truth of what happened with Chris Benoit, his wife Nancy, and their son Daniel.

It isn’t from that episode, this is actually from the WWE 2K23 game
