    I'm a DO family practice doc near Chicago, wanted to thank you for these videos. They're a great review, and some techniques are very similar to Osteopathic ones.

    Thank you for the video doctor. I have not yet been professionally diagnosed with BPPV, however I've had light vertigo on a daily basis for like 4-5 days right now. Before I've had a few episodes of this this year which lasted 1-2 weeks each. The first time i noticed it was when i was temporarily working at a factory, which involves heavy leaning, body bending etc. Next thing I knew, i felt like my ears are slowly getting plugged and released. I started experiencing vertigo. I went to the doctor's office and told me it was completely stress/hbp related, and i should try to relax my thoughts. After a while of suffering, it seemed that the problem has settled temporarily on its own. Haven't had symptoms in months.
    Lately I've been doing a lot of jumping jacks on a daily basis and thats how I again started noticing these horrible symptoms. I've tried this Epley maneuver (at home - trying to prevent going , and to be honest I feel much better. So much so that I still haven't moved my head (fearing that my vertigo will reappear - i've done it before like 2 hours).
    I know you're not supposed to comment on specific cases, but I'm just curious of your opinion about this, and if you would respond it will by highly appreciated.

      Hi Adrian: You are correct I cannot comment on specific cases without doing an examination. That being said, here is our "Vertigo, Concussion, Whiplash Playlist" you should find some good information in these videos. Cheers! th-cam.com/play/PLgOYZJk3rv6UXQ7l2d10u37ngF3y2lw0j.html

      Hi there, While I deeply appreciate your comment and concern, please note that it's not possible for me to give specific feedback without an in-person evaluation. Nonetheless, if you're experiencing dizziness associated with particular head movements, I strongly suggest that you consult with a healthcare professional. They'll be able to examine you thoroughly and provide tailored advice.
      Take care and best regards.

    I’m suffering bppv at the moment. I had it for 10 days now, i hope it will cure soon. I have 3 month old baby and a toddler. Everytime i have episodes I worry about them, i felt sick most of the time. I need to overcome
    This vertigo because there’s two children relying on me. Please God, heal me, heal everyone who have vertigo at the moment. Amen..
    Doctor i just saw your video, i think i started to have this because of panic attack? I searched on google what are the causes of vertigo. And panic attack is one of them. Because everytime my 3 month old having a reflux (like vommiting) i just panic so much. :( then i started to have this. I even got a car accident 5 days ago. And I am not sure if its because of vertigo. I seen a gp 3 days after experience the symptoms and she said its vertigo. :(

      Hi Melody: I am not sure what the GP advised you or if they made a referral to another practitioner. If you have not received direction or a referral from your physician I would recommend seeing another practitioner for some specific advice. I can not comment on specific cases without performing a physical examination. Cheers!

    Is there a particular maneuver that someone could do once a day as a precautionary, just to catch a bad bout of bppv before it happens

    • @kinetichealthonline
      @kinetichealthonline  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think there is any definitive way to prevent BPPV. Here is one take "Prevention. In most cases, benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) cannot be prevented. But some cases may result from head injuries. Wearing a helmet when bicycling, motorcycling, playing baseball, or doing other sports activities can protect you from a head injury and BPPV." Cheers!

    Is it possible to have no nystagmus with the six hallpike? If i do the start of the deep head hang maneuver it ceeats dizziness. Also when laying down oe getting up from bed i get dizziness. Not full spinnin.

      Hello @mariamarino8761,
      It is indeed possible not to experience nystagmus during the Dix-Hallpike test, which is often used to diagnose benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV). The absence of nystagmus could suggest that your dizziness may not be due to the typical form of BPPV, or it may be that the crystals in your inner ear are not moving in a way that triggers nystagmus during the test. Experiencing dizziness when lying down or getting up could be due to a variety of reasons, and it's important to have a thorough evaluation by a healthcare professional to determine the cause and appropriate treatment. The Epley maneuver is specifically designed to address certain types of BPPV, and its effectiveness can vary. If you haven’t already, please consult with a healthcare provider who can assess your situation with a physical examination and possibly recommend a tailored treatment plan.

    Hello Brian,
    Great video. My problem with vertigo happens when I lay down, on my back, facing up towards the ceiling. Then my vertigo kicks in. I sit back up on the bed and close my eyes and wait for things to reset. Sometimes I get vertigo when I lay down on my side. Do you think the Epley maneuver can help me with this as well? Thx. 🙂

      Hi Michael: I can not make comments on specific cases without doing a physical examination. I recommend you see your practitioner and get them to do an assessment. Just make sure they run you though both a cranial nerve exam th-cam.com/video/Vw6Z4-oYrfY/w-d-xo.html. In addition I would also recommend a orthopaedic cervical examination. th-cam.com/video/Jz_PNpxXErs/w-d-xo.html Cheers!

      @@kinetichealthonline Ok. Great. Another thing I would like to know is, which maneuver should they do 1st to see in what direction the eyes move, in order to know how to proceed? For example, should they do the Dix- Hallpike maneuver first and then from there the Epley maneuver, etc? Thx. :)

      Hi Michael: What we start with will depend on the suspected cause of the vertigo (ie. Trauma, concussion, or BPPV). Here is a link to our vertigo concussion playlist. We often start with HINTS, VOMS, then the Dix HallPike maneuver. Cheers th-cam.com/play/PLgOYZJk3rv6UXQ7l2d10u37ngF3y2lw0j.html

    If you have a big wave of dizziness on the last part where you sit up, does that typically mean it worked? Haha

    • @kinetichealthonline
      @kinetichealthonline  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for watching and for your question! While I can’t provide specific advice without a full examination, it’s not uncommon for people to feel a wave of dizziness during the final part of the Epley Maneuver, especially when they sit up. This can sometimes indicate that the crystals in the inner ear have shifted, which is the goal of the maneuver. However, it's important to monitor how you feel afterward and consult with a healthcare professional if you have any concerns or persistent symptoms. I'm glad you found the video helpful, and I hope it brings you some relief!
