As much i love cycling gear/kit, this channel is infinitely more interesting than the hundreds of other dude-bros rocking their thousand dollar bikes and clothing sponsorships. Love seeing Ed cruise along in a country i know so little about, on whatever bike is available. So much more humble and adventurous. It's refreshing to watch cycling content that's not massively consumeristic.

Ed a technical suggestion. The newer camera models starting at the 7 have internal stabilization that puts the session with gimbal to shame. Definitely worth looking into. I have a 7 and a session 5 and it's just amazing. You can still get a decent second hand price on the session and gimbal and maybe even pick up a second hand 7 or newer. You can also link them to your phone so you can get a live preview of what the camera is seeing.

Ed check out the likes of Adam Watkins and his cycling vlogs. I find his video entertaining is the chat, at times you feel like saying you do know we can hear your inner monologue. Holding the camera allows you to get a view of his face as he talks it also allows the camera to be pointed at things. The gimbal certainly make the road surface better than it was for you.

Those thumbshifters are older than you are! I just found the Wheeler 8800, and it's a 1993. Definitely older than you! If you care for the shifters, they'll last forever (new cables & housing occasionally. Or you can overhaul their internals to REALLY treat them well!). I have several sets that are still going strong (and on brand new set still in the box!).

Good concept and the 'looking left' wasn't noticeable but could have done with the camera pointing up a bit more so we don't get tempted to compare the tree colours to your knees. Must admit that I kept getting the temptation to go find some footage from when I've been cycling in Grand Canaria, not that's some down hill speed. ;) You then have to decide are pot-holes or switch backs worse for the ride. :D
