Here’s some study methods I do that have helped! Ik no one asked but these help me a lot so I’d figure I’d give some input
Math - exactly like she said practice problems practice problems practice problems! I will also take new notes off of the lesson if I didn’t get a subject the first time
Science - more practice problems! For chem/physics a lot of math problems and for all short answer prompts/mult. choice. Then I use quizlet for vocab/important concepts! I like writing everything down on paper when I learn it and then transferring that to quizlet to master it
History - reading the textbook helps me with history a lot because you can see the story line and the cause and effect of what happened. Any “key-concept questions” in these textbooks are typically an indicator of what will be on the exam. Also quizlet rocks.

    • @cheekybottoms8072
      @cheekybottoms8072 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

I agree. Quizlet is so good for memorizing important definitions. It’s also more economical than using paper flash cards!

what I also found really helpful is reading aloud to yourself. I'm an arts student, so there's a lot to memorize. reading it aloud (as loudly as you comfortably can), really helps me remember things, and hearing my voice allows me to recall easily during my exams!

I remember 2 years ago I had to take this big test and it was really hard to do but what I did was when I was studying I would learn small sections at a time and when I learned a section I would learn another one and review the section I had just learned and I did this for the whole thing and when it was time for the test I passed it. I don’t know if that made sense but that’s the method I used and it was actually really helpful.

Right after I get out of a class, I use active recall to try and remember what was taught in the class and then on a sheet of paper, I write down what I didn’t understand or just guessed and highlight it somewhere in my notes.

my lecture notes are just like your typed up notes. finally i've found someone who doesn't go extravagant with taking notes in amazing handwriting and all that pretty stuff. i think one thing that you can add to make thing even more condensed is take notes on the ppt/keynote slides, because when you open them up again its all there in one place.

It was really nice to see your video. I did my physics major in a top uni, and we used to do all of this. Such a trip through memory lane. The kind of studying I do now is pretty different, but many of these methods translate very well. And I still take some classes with undergrads. There's a couple things I started to add with time, specifically once I felt comfortable with taking quick and thorough notes at lectures. I started using the method where you got a margin for important notes and signifies, and a final review section for each lesson. I also write active questions during lectures and review/study sessions, it's what's helped me to ask questions and now I really see why that's Important. It's also a great reflection wxcercise even if you end up not asking your questions.

Tysm for this christine! I take notes and study in a similar way as you but there were a lot of tips here that I can definitely use in my own studying routine. One of the biggest takeaways here was limiting my notes to just 1 or 2 pages. I used to have notes that lasted 5-7 pages in an A4 sized paper and it would be so overwhelming to review and practice on. Stay safe and God bless🥰✨

Personally, for bigger lectures, I found writing what the prof says directly on a lecture slide super helpful to keep up in those large impersonal classes. Also, I would highly recommend trying to make yourself some kind of study guide for all of your exams. Sometimes prof will actually give you prompts or questions at the end of lectures which are super helpful but even if they don't, writing or typing out the concepts they spent the most time on can be really helpful for exams. Best of luck to anyone entering or trying to enter uni!

Thank you so much Christine!! 😍😍 My personal way to type notes from lecture slides for life science courses such as biology is to make my notes in Q&A format as bullet points The simpler the better I find it confusing to have long answers
Let’s say we are taking notes on kidneys
One question would be What is the vasa recta, then the answer is counter current exchanger
The next question would be what’s the function of the vasa recta and the answer is pick up water reabsorbed by and solutes pumped out by at the ascending loop

Step 1: Get rid of all the food in your place.
Step 2: Have a trustworthy person in your life.
Step 3: Have a job or some money set aside for expenses while you're in school.
Step 4: After rent/car insurance/etc. is paid, take all the remaining money in your bank account and send it to the trustworthy colleague telling them to only send you money when you send proof of you having completed an assignment/quiz or taken a page of notes.
    Step 5: Get hungry
