Man of medan feels similiarly to me at least since all ghosts are hallucanations because of a long time bio weapon with characters being real and olson being one of primary and REAL threat

I think the narrative would be a lot higher for players if it left the twist out at the end and let little details shown and said in the game to make it more ambiguous for people to theorize. Some things don't really need a definitive answer to what happened in story, take Silent Hill 2 for a great example.
It sure would be nice if TH-cam mobile didn't put the make the top comment immediately visible upon loading the video.
It has been revealed in the end that there were no other characters (John, Angela, Daniel, and Taylor) in the present day. They were just embodiments of the long-lost family members of Andrew / Anthony Clarke. The devastating house fire triggered the death of the entire family of Andrew, or rather, Anthony Clarke, and he never stopped blaming himself for it. He has been dealing with remorse and trauma all his life.

Dude, the game was so greatly played out. It all made sense but pointed in another totally different direction. And when seeing the best end and coming to this sudden realization it was sad. I wish every other game was this well played out. Also this would make a great movie I would buy

@@lazuardialdi2646idk maybe a good terrorist kinda movie but not so much horror given when the manchurion gold was revealed to be a whole hallucinating chemical that causes heart attack instead of well...ACTUAL gold,it's important to note the difference between the three games because two went for actual super natural/paranormal activities whereas one was a full lethal drug.
The only twist I don't expect in these games is when people decide not to discuss their relationship problems during a life or death situation

I just know that this made me feel something I can't even express....Like I woke up from a dream, but I was never asleep kind of feel.......that's the best way I can describe it.

I only just noticed the song playing while we are introduced to Anthony and Dennis is “Witches promise” by Jethro Tull. That’s kinda funny because many interpret that song to be about a guy lamenting that his lover is making a mistake by being with someone else (the witch is a man in this song who gives her hope of better things to come) and will regret it when she finds out too late that the one that can give her what she really needs is her ex. An interesting song to play over Dennis bitching about Tanya’s boyfriend and his paganism considering Taylor and Daniel lol.

My original gripes about the whole game lol. Every time someone’s in danger the other characters are mostly just standing around. Then just resumed walking/standing around and even fell asleep at one point.
Seems like the entire plot of this series is that the curator's books are unfinished and we have to finish them for him.

In devil in me curator seems to be the Granthem Du'met himself since well in previous games he would sometimes appear in shadows watching from afar before a certain character's possible death meanwhile in devil in me hes either a crow or the killer himself

This is the only part that really bugs me lol. She definitely could have lived by jumping. She might be hurt, but very much alive.
It definitely had the vibes of a "horror movie kill" where it jumps the shark a little bit. Scarves can be used to kill, but yeaaaah that death was a bit hokey
The numbers that the professor sees when they are at the bar, i think are the same numbers the characters from Medan hear on the radio.
The “big” accident in the beginning probably was Rachel and Eric from house of ashes....the diner looked similar.

the inspiration for this one seems to be silent hill mixed with some grudge/paranormal content very interesting
The twist at the end does make sense when you think about the way the Curator lights a candle for each character you can keep alive, and in this one... He only lit one candle at the beginning. He simply never addresses it until the end of the game.
But it was right there, staring at you the whole time.
Hands down one of the greatest story line in a game. Really enjoyed this one. I started with three, just got this ending for the 2nd game. One to the first one.
note: in the "prologue", when they are all family, if Andrew tells Taylor to use the window and not the pipe, she burns inside the house, and in 1700 she will be executed burned at the stake

I saved no one and i was really disappointed but realising none of them exist make me feel oh well i did good i guess. But the ending blew my mind, been playing this and asking maybe the driver turns into one of the monsters.
I thought it was gonna be something like getting closure for past lives or something but wow I did not expect that ending. It legit made me tear up because of how tragic it is.
It's a repeating incident happening every time someone like Mary is with these 5 members
Something i don't get that happened in my Playthrough too is that Taylor's scars dissapeared at the end. I Accidently backed out too quickly while looking at a Window so i had to Quit to the Main Menu and look at the window again. Note sure if that Triggered it.
And also something which i wish was is John saying at the End "We've had one of a rough night. You more than anyone" rather than it being silent fully. I have a video of the game best ending on my PS4 i just did. But i should replay the last scene and try to make him say that and edit it into the Best Ending Playthrough.
The thing that i hated about this game is that it kinda stole your time and They don't talk about taylor burning demon

If she wasn't possessed then the priest has to be the devil, right? right? :o

You've set an arbitrary limit on your suspension of disbelief, so you deprive yourself from enjoying a whole category of narratives. It's not "real" in the canon of the story, but it's real to the main character. Your choices paint the personalities of the family he lost, and whether they survive the monsters within the delusion will reflect whether his feelings of guilt over their deaths consume his memories of who they were. The monsters literally look like the way each of them died lol
House of Ashes monsters are real.
Thankfully, HOA monsters are real so it worth the time to play

I don't know how people got so thrilled with this story. It makes no sense..at the "true event" in the house it shows that Mary is actually evil and have o monster to which she talks too and she kills everybody. All of sudden she wasn't and Andrew gets the blame?? Also many of the dialogues weren't logical at all, because they wanted to combine dialogues from different choices.

I hated that they kept calling them doubles. I wish they had called them doppelgängers or counterparts. At least something with some level of intelligence given they’re all academics of some sort.
Also Will Poulter is the only reason I could make it through this game. All of the other characters annoyed me so much.

Awful Story for several reasons.
The twist that it was in his head and the monsters are like tormentors of mourning and grief is fine.
But it removes all stakes of the entire story retroactively.
Why is the representation of his sister and brother, Taylor and Daniel dating? Like why?
What was the significance of the events in the 1700s? Mary did in fact get 4 people killed, even if Carver was evil. She literally got them killed, then did it again, then did it again, then again. Like... what reason was the player given for wanting to save Mary?
There isn't any. But you auto get the bad end for not saving her, but none of this matters because it's all made up anyway.
Then theres just no exposition at all for why the little sister killed her whole family and herself. Why did that happen if none of the monsters or devil stuff was real. She locked all the doors and set the house on fire, like that seems super intentional.
Theres just so many leaps of logic here and non explanations.

The Devil in Me is also a new turn in story when compared to all the others (including Until Dawn). While the others are based on mythology and tragic events, this is based on a single (psychotic) individual. It'll be interesting how it'll go

The twist in Man of Medan felt like a cop-out, but the twist here, while similar, instead felt like a proper extension of the original tragedy.

His little sister Megan was real, the events of the witch trial weren't: those were just to simbolyze Anthony's sense of guilt

The bus driver was a guy named anthony (the prologue shows him much younger as hes family dies inside the burning house) every character was just an manifistation of his family members from his mind (except the kid one) with andrew being anthony (which explains why he cant die during mid game or at start and only has one death scene) the ending in this video was him basically forgiving himself if you managed to "s a v e" the rest of the "survivors"
