  • Valve adjustment turned into taking the whole bike apart and dropping the engine. FUN TIMES ENJOY!
    TIPS! You can get it off with just trying to wiggle but I don't suggest. You will have to drop the engine. If you take off the front mounting bolts and the rear top mounting bolt,. NOT THE BOTTOM ONE BEHIND THE BREAK. Then you should be able to rock the engine forward with it supported by something. Good luck it's not a walk in the park like my valve adjustment on the Brozz.

    Hey brother, have you seen the new kp mini? They’re fuel injected and look awesome!!

      I have and I love the color scheme! I just can't justify spending that extra almost $1,000 for the fuel injection. Plus a bunch of people like there carbs for the simplicity. I guess it's a toss up for who likes what better. I wouldn't mind the fuel injection,but I don't think the price tag is justifiable. It is like almost $1,000 more right? I paid $1850 for my 2021 SS3 model shipping included.

      @@bryanlinville7275 I just looked around and that's the site I looked at. Yeah I'll wait on that one. I'm gonna get a Templar X for my next bike. Currently laid up healing from an ACL surgery so no rush for me here. I'll be back out there next summer. Do you have any other bike besides the KP mini?

      No, just the kp mini. But I’m gonna sell the one and buy the new kp mini. My kp mini I have now only has 155 miles on it. My first one I gave to my son and bought this 2nd one in Feb not knowing they were coming out with the new ones that are fuel injected

    Hey I have question for my mini it is not tracking my mileage or speed you know anything about that?

    • @irishryder2470
      @irishryder2470  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would have to say your speed sensor on your tire isn't working or not in the right place. Could be a wire that isn't connected as well. You may have to route your speed sensor wire and see if it has any damage/lost connection anywhere.

    Looking back, do you think you could have adjusted the valves without the cover completely removed? If you tip it up on one side, would you have enough room to get your tools in there?
    I would like to adjust the valves on my new KP Mini but this seems like a ball buster.

    • @irishryder2470
      @irishryder2470  ปีที่แล้ว

      There are a bunch of people that said they wiggled it off. Also messing around and wiggling the cover could cause you to lose some o ring or something someone mentioned on the Kp mini fb group. It definitely wasn't a fun job. Your best bet is to try and wiggle it out so you can get to the valves to do an accurate job on the valves. The design to me is completely shit lol. Unless they know something we don't know at Lifan about taking it off lol.

    Reason enough for me to not buy a KP Mini. I'm looking at Grom clones and Icebear Champions instead.

    • @irishryder2470
      @irishryder2470  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They are way worse quality but you do you buddy. KP minis are known to last 12,000 plus miles. Your not getting that out of those clones. Lifan is a real manufacturer/top in China. Those other clones are nothing compared to this. Just saying you'll be working way more on them than this thing.

    I seem to be getting a very light ticking in my engine should I do a valve adjustment?

    • @irishryder2470
      @irishryder2470  ปีที่แล้ว

      How many miles? I believe they recommend you do it after 600 miles or 600 kilometers I forget it's in the manual. You actually want your engine to have a slight ticking. It's just your valves opening and closing. If it doesn't have any ticking sound at all that means your valves are too tight and can damage the engine. Same as too loose can cause damage but too tight is worse lol

      No problem thank you for watching. I went over the recommendation of 600 miles/1000kil. I was at around 900miles. No biggie though. A word of ADVICE if you do this job. Loosen the front mount bolts on the front of engine and only one engine mount on the back. Leave the bottom engine mount in place so you can kind of rock the engine back and forth instead of totally dropping it like I did. It was a hell of a time getting that engine back in alone with two straps lol.
