    Got this for Christmas from our tech savvy adult kids. Didn't understand what it was with all the activity going on so left it until everybody was gone and my wife and I , in our 70's, could figure out what it was. The printing was so small and in so many languages we decided to go online and figured out what we had. You explanation brought every thing to light. We have a JBL Clip for listening to books on tape when in our car and your comparison brought out that we knew what we had. Thanks from the older generation.

    Bought one yesterday. A guy brought one to our jazz wokshop. Unbelievable sound quality especially the bass. Essential for jazz. Much better than the mobile phone quality. Just need to charge it and try the Bluetooth. Handy when I am cooking in the kitchen.

    The body of theSoundCore mini happens to be aluminum, not plastic. The portion directly beneath that- with the microphone, function button, charging indicator, power switch, AUX input jack and SD card slot is high-impact (possibly ABS) plastic. The speaker grid on the top is metal. I’ve read several comments elsewhere about how they felt the inclusion of the MicroSD card slot was stupid. I found that the legendary ANKER quality PLUS the SD card support were the reasons I decided to purchase this speaker! The SoundCore mini plays DRM-free .MP3 files up to 320 kbps from a Class 4 or higher SD card with a maximum capacity of 32GB. The five watt output of the speaker is not going to blast a room but it is loud and creates no discernible distortion. The Bluetooth range is listed at 66’/20 meters and I have found that to be quite accurate.

    nice review! is this better than the nano or just the same? I like the size of the nano that's why I'm eyeing for it but if the sound is inferior, I might go with this mini

      Lasdil Elizaga the nano sound quality can't compare with this. The nano is smaller however. The bass depth and kick of the mini blows away anything the nano is capable of. If you can deal with the slightly larger size I'd go for the mini.

    The soundcore mini or soundcore? Which is better in terms of quality of build and sounds?

    • @rob9435
      @rob9435  8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The Soundcore is much larger than the Soundcore Mini. Quality of both is about the same I'd say but the regular Soundcore has a fuller sound because of its 2 drivers compared to 1 driver in the Mini. The Soundcore can also play louder. But the Mini is 1/3 the size. Each speaker is really targeted for a different use. The Soundcore Mini is something you toss in your bag and take with you anywhere while the larger Soundcore I'd probably use as a desk unit as it's a little chunky to bring with you all the time. Both are good speakers though and at $35 for the Soundcore and $21 for the Mini you can't really go wrong with either.

      So you're saying the Soundcore is a stereo sound while the Soundcore mini is a mono? But The mini bass is better than the Soundcore right? I want to buy a portable Bluetooth speaker that is more complete in terms of sound.
      And what would you recommend in terms of overall sound between the two? For me both of them in terms of portability, is not a problem even though the Soundcore is bigger.

      Both Soundcores don't really start to show off their bass capability until you have them at 50% loudness or greater but I guess if I was to choose between the two I'd pick the Mini. If you go for the Anker Premium it beats both these. bit.ly/2cKqQXC but it is a bit bigger...not as portable.
      If you really want something that has the best 'full' sound in this price range and is still really small and portable I would recommend the Xiaomi Mi. It has built-in dsp that boosts the bass at lower volumes giving it a very full, mature sound...I'd argue better than either the Soundcore or Soundcore Mini...although it's not as small as the Mini...more similar in size to the soundcore. Here's a link to it on Gearbest.com...it comes in several colors. bit.ly/2cise80

      If you can spend a little more and want what I think is really the 'best' sound in a small bluetooth speaker then I'd probably go with the Denon Envaya Mini. It's a bit more money however...but it has awesome full sound and the bass beats both the Soundcores. bit.ly/2cKpTP5
