My kids never had baby food. They got adult food including roast beef and adult oatmeal. I ground everything in a baby food grinder I got in 1974 at Sears for $4.95. I saved TEN TONS of money. My kids made it to adulthood.
Baby cereal is a gimmick. As a baby I had adult oatmeal. I also had mashed or pureed food ( without salt). Baby cereal is more for convenience as it's quick and easy to make.

Good grief! I had 4, and everyone ate solids at 6 months old. Gave them mash potatoes, mashed up field peas, and cream style corn. And so on. And they seemed to love. So out went the bottles, expensive formulas, and baby food! They got table scraps from then on.
When my daughter now 51 eas 18 months old she started getting her back molars. She wouldn't eat any thing but red jello rice bananas and Cheerios fo weeks at a time.

Normally, infants are fed rice milk which is a much finer, smoother food for the baby to eat. However, we did not have any rice milk so Hannah tried to make something similar by blending up some oats and mixing them with breast milk.

Wrong. Microwaving does NOT zap nutrients. Google it. According to Web MD: " The Verdict: If you do it right, cooking food in the microwave is one of the best ways to retain your food's vitamins and minerals." Other sources agree. Google it.
