Fire Triangle Explained - How Oxygen, Heat, and Fuel Interact with Wildfire

  • In this video, we'll be diving into the Fire Triangle and examining the influences oxygen, heat, and fuel have on both combustion and wildfire. We'll first look at how these factors promote wildfire, and then dive into "breaking the fire triangle" by eliminating one or more of these features to limit combustion. Finally, we'll go over the three methods of heat transfer: conduction, convection, and radiation, and put forward the various heat transfer examples you may find in a wildfire.

      Well N.C usually does not have wildfires, but I sure am learning a bunch. Honestly your the best at explaining the hard part of weather. Much appreciated Holt!

    Thanks Holt, I enjoyed the video. I especially liked when you were explaining the radiation part of fire , It reminded me of when I made a fire in my fireplace and watched some of the crumbs of wood that I left at the edge of the brick start to smoke as the radiation from the fire got to them. Looking forward to next weeks vid.
