Hi guys, very nice finds! Everything you found in the video is my dream, I've been trying to get at least one medal for several years, so far in our Czech Republic only the Hitlerjugend band and a few Kar98 rifles, good luck guys, it's a great hobby!
So impressed that you recognice what the items you find are😮 for me, a rusty round gadget would just as easily be from some old scrap that the elderly used and dug up when it was broken. There are an infinite number of things to familiarize yourself with. Should have had someone with experience on the subject with them when looking. Who owns the fields you are digging on?
Thank you so much! I´m a collector and hobby historian, connected to many others all across europe, and it makes me puke every time I see a broken Dog Tag or a complete one that has signs of decades in the ground in an Auction. Just like rotten Medals, cause you never know if some looter just found a fallen soldier, taking all that was left, and didnt tell anyone. So many families still dont know what happened to their Fathers, Grandfathers, and these subjects sell this stuff on ebay
I follow a few Russian detector channels, they find remains regularly. Stalingrad region. I think it’s called Volgograd now. A lot of times the German soldiers remains have the ID tag with it. They have stated that the German authorities are not interested in getting remains back. They do however take the information from the ID tag to change from M.I.A to K.I.A. From what they report German authorities make no attempt to contact the family to let them know their loved one was found. Remains are brought to Sologubovka cemetery for proper burial. Some group’s in Russia do make attempts to contact the families to let them know. This group also tries to salvage the Russian ID tubes with the paper inside with their information. They do amazing work.
Zo bijzonder.
The Metals are iron cross, the one with a riffle is a Infantry badge. The helmet with crossed swords is a german wounded metal. The tank one is tank division metal. The Panzer Badge
I hope you guys realize how lucky you are, i live 14000kms away from there and will never have a chance to look for anything like you guys do. Bragging about who finds the most is a bit of a go at others who cannot dig.
The Germans had 6 SS cavalry divisions in WW2. I may be wrong but with the Kav rgt 2 it might have been the 2nd SS Maria Thresia or the 2nd Cossack if the soldier was in a cavalry division.
The foxhole was such a treasure trove. Such boring objects in normal life, but found together like that tell a story. That little hole was someones life, and so well preserved. The toothpaste may even be in there still haha.
Awesome Job guys! Well paid-off video must say! Question for you though, what do you do with these rusty pistols/rifles? Here in Poland metal detecting has really strict laws regarding finding guns, even very rusty and destroyed weapons are considered by the government as ,,deadly", ,life threatening" and other shenanigans. Just after the Berlin wall fell we were staying on a campsite in Kladow. We walked through the woods close to where the wall had been,. We were close to an old barracks when we found some trench remains,. My son kicked a rotten tree , as it fell we saw a spoon in the roots. It was a Luftwaffe spoon.
Forgive me if I am wrong, but the k98k had a turned down bolt, but it pa the ww1 Gw98 had its bolt at a 90 degree angle to the rifle, same as a Mosin nagant.

@@paulbradford8240 maybe he had a black tankers uniform. His dog tag says ss cavalry regiment, so he was probably a tanker without tank. In this state of war, units where often mixed with any soldier they could find. It's thrilling to speculate but we will never know, unfortunately.
