Great video!! Studying for the #EPPP and I found this helpful-great idea to pair the models with people. Thanks for the time you put into it.

Thank you both!! This was truly helpful! Any theories you’re aware of specifically about middle easterners?

I'm so glad this resource found you and that it was helpful. I am not aware of a theory that centers middle eastern experiences/identities unfortunately but if I find something, I will certainly share it here!

@@JAKE-gz2pg thank you, that would be terrific!
I got to this video bc in therapy we've been talking about racial and cultural identity development theory and how I, a recent migrant to the US, have been adapting to life here.
But I can definitely draw some parallels from the theories you presented in this video about other cultural minorities. So, I appreciate you putting this video out there!

@@JAKE-gz2pg I would love to hear your and Janelle's take on Dr. Kevin Nadal's Filipino American Identity Development model. P.S. Loved the drawings for this video, seeing the Philippine flag, and Janelle sharing her own journey 🙂

A university asks you whether to have individual cultural centers or one multicultural center. What would your response be knowing all these theories?
Great video. I found it very helpful.

Thanks for watching and for leaving a thoughtful comment. While I value the utility and function of one-stop-shop type multicultural centers, I believe that certain students can feel lost in broad-serving affinity spaces. For example, my experiences as a mono-racial Black man may feel diluted in BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, Persons of Color) resource centers if the Black racial identity is not well-represented. I have unique and different experiences from other POC (Persons of Color) folks. I suppose my answer is BOTH!! My vision would be to have a Cultural Pluralism Center which serves as the campus hub for multicultural resources and also various "branches" or "strands" that serve specific student groups. Lots of collaboration, lots of funding, lots of personnel! Thanks again for your question, Jacklynn!

@@JAKE-gz2pg Thank you for the answer Jake! I really appreciate it. I love the "branches" description. What a great way to put it.
