These techniques could potentially be of use to ANY singer, but I do recommend that singers with lower voice types give them some specialized attention. Also, it's not that "nay" and lip trills are "bad", but rather that they--alone--are not sufficient to grant optimal freedom for a low voiced singer (we've gotta integrate those back muscles 🙌🏽).
Eric, you have a beautiful voice. I did all my singing in Italy, Chile, Greece and Spain and now at a ripe old age, after our daughters are grown and married, I'm going back to perform in my old home town in Perth, Western Australia. You are so brilliant in explaining the use of our latissimus dorsi. When I was training hard many moons ago, my back rib cage used to ache from using it to the max to strengthen it. Thank you for the wonderful F and V sound exercises. You've made my day!
Thank you for these tip for us baritones that want that range without that higher range without it sounding smooth or nasally, So I need to implement the F& V exercises.
Many times, big voiced singers have to work harder but I can tell you firsthand, you have to put in the work. I sing with the entire body and it can be physically demanding.
I haven't commented much before, but I wanted to say please never stop making videos! You've made such a difference in my life over the years - I love singing but never would have had the encouragement, motivation, or knowledge to work on it for so long. I've improved so much since I was that kid forcing out high notes in my mom's car, and I owe it all to you! Cheers!
In college while preparing for haydn's creation mass I would often practice singing high into my head voice because it gave my lower range more richness and control. By the way we had Christopheren Nomura singing with us and it was such a pleasure and a joy learning by singing into his voice. He's one of those great singers who helps all the choir gets better just by singing along side him. p.s. thanks for the back muscles tip with the "v" sound, it does help with control!
I can hit a F5 and I’m a baritone and it comes out naturally. But if I falsetto I can hit higher than that. The lowest I hit is Bb2 but I think I can go lower. I love my voice!
@@BJ0622 Possibly a tenor. It would be uncommon for a baritone trained well enough to reach F5 without using falsetto to not be able to go below a Bb3, even without training.

Don't get too caught up in the voice type thing. I very specifically wanted to address low voices, because very often contemporary singing techniques leave out the very critical aspect of body connection--something that singers with lighter voices may not miss as much.
this is getting on my.... nerves my voice type is F2 to A5 F5 but I struggle to sing low I'm a baritone I tried to sing the Holiday by lil Nas but it's like I struggle to rap/sing with timbre and depth f this singing I give up 😥😥😥

That's not unusual. We don't necessarily want you to get in the habit of hunching over, but it's possible that what you perceive as "rounding your back" may actually be bringing your body more into proper alignment. This is because what most people view as "standing up straight" very often involves them leaning backward slightly. Of course, without seeing you, I can't know for sure. But maybe this can bring a bit of insight.
Eric I have a track I would love for you to critic or get some vocal advice, I can pay. I want to release but not completely satisfied can you help me or refer me.
