Thank you. It is always amazing how much was asked of these soldiers and all they did was deliver.
His Greatness has only increased with age.
The vast majority of people, even WWII combatants are unaware of the A20 and its capability. Most people looking at an A20 would swear they're looking at a B26. The A20 was the Warthog of WWII and Korea. It had one pilot / crew. It could carry bombs, rockets, and had eight .50 caliber guns in the nose. That's why it was named the HAVOC. On the deck, it can fly faster than a Learjet. In combat, it can sink a destroyer escort under a barrage of gunfire. I had the pleasure to work on one in El Paso that was purchased by Willie Farah from Howard Hughes. Willie took it down to the wheels and rebuilt every system on the plane. Willie flew an A20 in Korea and would fly it at low level in the desert while maneuvering. Willie could really make that plane "talk". The plane still flies today out of Texas (Houston I think). It's painted Black and has a Skull & Crossbones at the nose. Quite a feature to see if you ever get the chance.
My Father crewed A-20's and later B-25 in New Guinea campaign. Flew 68 missions with serveral aircraft shot out fom under them. Awarded DFC and air medals for combat, retired after 28 years active duty from Air Force in 1969
What a great guy, not many of these heroes around now. Wonder what he thinks about the World today that his generation won?!!

My father flew with MAG32 doing close air support from the Mangaldan Airdrome .There were A-20's attatched to subordinate squadrons with the group.A-20's are the Army designation for an SBD.

“What was it like for you at a young age “ DAM what would you think! Young testosterone male with an aircraft that shoot and destroy at 200 mph. Shit! It’s the ultimate! He was reserved answering that question! Lol
The goal is to get the answers in the veterans words not mine! Thanks for watching and GOD
