Thanks for making this video. I'm getting ready to swap out my dual Xeon E5-2620 (2.0 Ghz - 8 Core) processors for dual Xeon E5-2697 (2.7 Ghz - 12 core) processors in my HPE dl380p Gen8 server.
I have 2x E5 2470 CPU's I use for gaming in my server pc, they do surprisingly well considering their age. Of course I'd want something newer, been looking at lga2011 stuff.
just checking do you use isolation for the vm cores in the unraid settings? also if you are going to use a gpu make sure you put it in the correct pcie slot associated with the cpu cores you use.
Hey dude. I have extreme performance problems with my vm´s on unraid. The SSD´s where your VM diskimage is stored shoudn´t formated with btrfs. Use Ext4 to store the diskimage. This performs 100% better. For example, my VM with btrfs took about 2 minutes to boot and was very slow. Now with EXT4 it runs like Baremetal. Please check this out and let me know if its works with your VM´s.
It is nice to see that your VM experience has improved with this upgrade. Keep up the good work :-)
Enjoyed this, look forward to your videos 😊
Great video as ever! Just joined the Discord server. Keep the videos coming.

Do I need this with 2019 system rom? I tried multiple ways, and it keeps failing OR being stuck on "boot:"
I recommend checking the used filesystem...
Have you tried to use that SD card slot on the motherboard to boot from? I just got one and couldn’t even figure out what size it is
I went with the z820 and it is about as fast as my Threadripper 1920x so I am happy. Not bad for just under $1k.
Lol, I paid 250 euro for my dl360e g8 back in 2020, and it should be able to handle e5-2470 V2, which is available for about 150 euro for Both cpu's.

The ISO is borked when i tried it. Disk error 80, AX = 42B7, drive 9F
:/
if you upgrade the cpu it has to be the same model on both side?????????
Is your Unraid governor set to performance mode?
这个视频告诉大家,CPU没有支架也能直接安装,这解答了非常大的一个疑惑,非常好

My 380p had 12 cores and 24 threads per CPU ..
check maas computers in Nijmegen maar eens ;)
annoyingly he just plonked the cpu in place without explaining anything....
