    I tried ALL these fancy remedies and the only thing that worked for me in the two vehicles in my drive in the cold weather is a small radio placed under my hood with an annoying channel of music. It has NEVER failed. Of coarse remove it in the morning. After a week or so it will go away.

    For those regular rat traps, wrap yarn or string around the trigger. Then, work the peanut butter into the string. It definitely helps.

    I just spent $1,400 to have my wiring harness replaced, so I’m taking all of your suggestions seriously. Thanks!

    Had mice getting into the cabin in my 16 Focus. I kid you not, one winter I caught 9 mice on traps in the cabin! Guy that installed my subwoofer sent the power wire through a big hole in the firewall.
    My brother and I plugged that up and put hardware cloth over the pressure relief vents. No more mice! Engine bay is a much trickier area to tackle tho.

      Your welcome. I've had continued success with that electric rat trap. Small or big rodents.

    I wouldn't worry about the occasional squirrel getting killed, they can do a lot of auto damage too

    mice can get into an engine compartment, like rats do, and also make a mess in there. A few mouse traps and rats traps set under your vehicles during autumn and winter, usually works good to keep rodents out of you car or truck.

    • @UprootedAdventures
      @UprootedAdventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yup prepare for both, because both get up in there and do the same amount of damage!

      Hasn't worked for us. They hang out in the engine bay, leaving feces and pee and debris everywhere, and never go anywhere near the traps placed under the vehicle or in the engine bay. We also leave the hood up at night and have lights, and neither of those has worked either.

      @@BodyWeakDotNet I never said it didn't work, I said the manufacturer states not to use it in the engine area, and I imagine that is because of the 02 sensor, I doubt tom-cat wants to pay for major engine repair to customers who use it in their engines.....if you need a deterrent inside the engine use shavings of Irish spring, or moth balls, or fresh cab..

    AZ desert, south. Have heard of tasty bait mix containing baking soda to kill rats. Wondering if same biological weakness is in desert pack rats and if baking soda mix will kill them too. Any ideas?

    all youtube has become is regular fools selling each other on PRODUCTS, product reviews.
    Forget dryer sheets....the world, your lungs & central nervous system would be far better off without them.
    wake the fuck up. Dryer sheets, fabric softeners, detergent scents. People are stupid.

    • @UprootedAdventures
      @UprootedAdventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not selling any products here. Just saying what worked for me. And you don't drive around with dryer sheets in there you take them out before you go anywhere. And you never smell anything so not going to hurt your lungs. The whole point is the rats dont like the smell so they stay out.
