  • Over the past few years, a significant shift has occurred as many users have transitioned from network licenses to single-user or sign-in licenses. However, we've identified a common challenge: changing the license type from network to sign-in is not always straightforward. Typically, this process requires users to open the program and manually update the licensing-a step that can be cumbersome and is not possible if the network license is no longer accessible.
To address this issue, Autodesk has developed a Licensing Support Tool. This tool not only facilitates an easier transition between license types but also offers a range of additional beneficial features. In this video, we will explore these features and demonstrate how the Licensing Support Tool can streamline your licensing experience.

Having issues with switching between two lic on one laptop (client requirement). Autodesk connector is wanting us to delete cache, settings, and project data including files from File Explorer' before continuing. Obviously that is a reason to pause - solution?

Yes, that is correct. You can switch between two different Autodesk Accounts on the same PC. However, please note that the files accessible from one account will likely differ from those available to the other account. For this reason, when you sign out of one account and sign into the other, the Desktop Connector will require you to clear the currently cached Autodesk Docs data on the PC. This step is necessary to prevent conflicts and confusion with files from the previous Autodesk Account and to ensure you can add the needed projects under the new Autodesk Account.
I understand this may not be ideal, but the system is not designed to facilitate frequent switching between accounts. This is likely why there is no existing solution to streamline this process.
