He lacks the power, tho' very expressive. Has some very bad habits that need attention. His vocal coach should be correcting them. We'll see how he develops as time goes on.
I agree.. jarussky (from Russian "I'm Russian") kermes (i saw her live, ones of the most horrible experiences of all t time) tend to be showoffs, fagioli doesn't measure his power as well as cutting.. there's that American black countertenor.. little too self-conscious..
Mi pare che rimanga in partitura senza aggiungere troppe improvisazioni ne abbellimenti non scritti e questo e' ammirevole. qualcuno ha commentato dicendo che si tratta di una lettura che mantiene sobrieta'.Mi trovo totalmente d'accordo e ammiro questa scelta di stile.Forse cambia qualcosina dal minuto 7,55 pur rimanendo nello spirito del pezzo.Qualche inesattezza per quanto riguarda le indicazioni di pianissimo ma l'intento del brano rimane sostanzialmente intatto. mi piace molto.
Breathless! Mr Cutting is graceful and his voice is beautiful, but the instrumentation is without equals, in my experience... Such harmony and sensitivity!

Possibly, but I can tell you that I've heard recordings of Pergolesi's Stabat Mater sung by tenor and baritone duet and I was not entertained. Can you really imagine this without the high frequency vibrations of the top notes? It really makes a difference; especially when holding a note for several seconds.
Wer leitet das Ensemble ? Üblicherweise sollte es der Cembalist sein, allerdings steht das Instrument dafür völlig falsch. Der Sänger ist sehr gut. Danke.

Possibly the best version I have ever heard, up there together with Franco Fagioli's interpretation.
