A man named Seth read this at an open mic last night right before I went out to do my stand up routine. I was moved so much by the words I almost couldn't go on because it hits with some major force. I managed to get through my set but this has been rattling in my head ever since. As a person starting my "show biz" career I see this like a wise old man standing at the crossroads down one fresh paved easy path is comfort but no goal. Down the hard packed earthen ruts is my dream. Im a dreamer
I use this in just about every spoken-word class or workshop I facilitate. In my top five favorite spoken-word pieces of all time. Thanks so much for this.
I'm not gunna lie and say this wasn't kind of depressing, but that was intense. I have been writing poetry for quite some time and its hard just to even stand up and read it, but just seeing you stand up and say your stuff is motivation for me to say mine. Thank you.
Laudable subject matter, but he brings nothing to the language. I suspect the serious, non-adolescent subject matter explains his relatively few hits. And hearing Bill Hicks mentioned in a piece by someone associated with Sarah Kay is refreshing, well beyond the drivel she usually fosters.
Just amazing, one of the best spoken word pieces ever!!

"We go on. Despite this, in spite of this, to spite this, we go on." I listen to this at least twice a year.

In my poetry class one of my classmates recited this poem by memory.
He executed it wonderfully but it was awesome to hear Robbie recite it himself.
Amazing... My tutor Christina Frigo showed this to us in our creative writing class and I was spellbound. You made me fall in love with slam poetry!
As a stand up comedian, I just want to say thank you. That was awesome.
