Scripture of the Day is made by Compass Bible Church in Huntington Beach. God planted Compass HB in 2014 and since then he has been gathering together people to worship and serve him from Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, Fountain Valley, Los Alamitos, Seal Beach, Westminster, Garden Grove, Long Beach, Santa Ana, Irvine, Bellflower and all over North Orange County and South LA county. - บันเทิง
We are new to Compass HB, and I must say that I am encouraged by my husband Ray, everyone's kindness, and the teaching.
I am very encouraged by Eric Snyder our HFG Leader. He is always joyful, full of wisdom, encouragement and the Holy Spirit. I love you brother!!
Michelle, Lori, Bettina, and Annemarie are all women at Compass who encourage me greatly with their Love for the Lord.
So blessed to have theses Godly ladies in my life!
A little late to the party but couldn’t miss out on sharing who I am encouraged by!!
I am thankful to be married to Philip Smith! It is an encouragement to me to see his faithfulness in the different ministries we get to serve in together!
I am thankful for Sandra Wright, who discipled me for years and came alongside me in some very difficult trials!
I am thankful for all my Underground ladies! I get to see God grow and mature them and am encouraged by their faith!
I’m thankful for my FG leaders, The Pages🤍 they love and care for our group so deeply and intentionally! They lead by example and I am grateful to call them my one another’s!
I am encouraged by everyone on staff who works heartily unto the Lord and cares about the souls at our church!
God is so good! The list goes on! What grace that I can think of so many people that encourage me!
I am so thankful for all the faithful Barnabai coming to Compass to serve! From the SOTD team, set up crew, hospitality, compass connect, greeters, kids min teachers, parking attendants, linen laborers, our fellowship leaders and, of course, our Pastors! We are a little spoiled here at CompassHB. God is at work and I’m thankful to be here!

Max Page!! My wife who is one of the most godly people I know!
Brandon Joaquin, Brendan White, Cory Patterson, My brother Eric! Mr. Alex who has helped me grow so much! All the Pastors!! What a blessing it is to have overseers who care and work tirelessly to build up the flock!! Men who don’t just preach the Word but live it out!!
There are so many more! Love you guys!! All of you who prayed for me and showed me and my family such love and support you all encouraged me in such a hard time!! God used you all to keep my faith strong! Thank you

I am encouraged by Pastor Bill! So many times he has patiently helped me think through decisions I was making, opened up his house to our Underground small group, and put in hard physical work to serve the church, and I have gotten to witness it first-hand! He's always faithful to point me back to the word, and in love to call me out on things I've done or said that were out of line. He also never steps down from a good old fashion debate about movies or food, which are always entertaining haha! He's not just my pastor or my small group leader, he's my friend.
So many ladies are an encouragement to me! So many ladies are an extension of God’s grace towards me! I will forever remember Olivia Trovato and Diana Smith (Larios) at the time inviting me to sit with them the first time I stepped foot into the church and then Allie Aldana coming alongside me to disciple me! And now, how I have met so many ladies at many different stages of life that have encouraged me!
I love you Ana!!!! So grateful for YOU and that we now get to serve the Lord alongside eachother DAILY!!!! God is good!
Julie Winslow encourages me!! I have been so blessed to have met her and become her babysitter, but GOD has transformed our relationship to so much more than that. Julie Winslow is my friend!! my sister in Christ. seeing her run for the Lord and serve faithfully encourages me! She encourages me to pursue holiness and God through his word and prayer more! I love her so so much and am so grateful to God for placing her in my life!
A year from now... I want to still be an encourager to our HFG leader.
When I become sick... She is there.
When I get down in the dumps she is there.
Her purpose is well known by all. So I lift her and the team in our group up in prayer, that's the least I can do and listen to them respectfully.
Thank You, Lord, for giving us these leaders... We love them all. ♥️🌷🎈🎉
James Keith encourages me on the regular! I have been stirred up and spurred on to seek the LORD time and time again by my brother James Keith! Love that brother!!
I have been encouraged by many people and all of them, like Barnabas, were people who were full of the Holy Spirit and of faith (v.24).
Good morning. I’m so thankful for my FG leader Nancy Davies, she is such an encouragement to me. I am thankful for her faith. So many people that I am encouraged by, Pastor Bobby, Pastor Bill, Sandra Wright, my son Daniel Cadena, Jacquie,my daughters Vanessa and Jessica,all the ladies in my FG and so many others! I am so blessed and thankful for their faith! 🙏💕
when I was a new christian, my Barnabas-es were Jayme Pappas, Haley Rouland and Laura Smith. Praise God for providing a family for me in Him, teaching me to run hard for Jesus and not turn back!
I am encouraged daily by Felix San Nicholas and Phillip Smith! Those two men serve faithfully as my small group leaders and have never failed to encourage me. Their wisdom, rebukes, and overall presence never fails to encourage me!

How blessed am I to have so many encouragers (Baranabi!) My kids Zakary and Eden are always encouraging me in the Word and in prayer. One of my biggest blessings on this Earth is my fellowship group. Those men and women who I get to do life with ~ thank you to every one of you who show up ready to dig into the Bible and encourage me daily, pray for me and show me how to love for Jesus ❤️🙏🏼🙌🏼 Too many to name!
I have a list of encouragers in my life, but I want to give a special shoutout to my Underground Leaders, Diana Smith and Jamela Robledo! Diana started off as my friend, then became my Partner for Partners, and now she is my leader; she saw me before I was saved and after (October 6, 2018) and has faithfully stuck by my side through my highs and lows, and has always pointed me to Christ. Jamela Robledo is someone who spills with love; she is a woman who loves the Lord and encourages those in her life to look to Jesus during every season. These two women are great examples of what being a Barnabas looks like.
My FG, the Wilhite ❤ and my son Jonathan Basilios 💜 are who encouraged me to go to Compass, but then The Word of God that’s being preached is what kept me going

Cynthia, Renae & Janet have been regularly encouraging me, I’m so thankful for their friendship and fellowship in the Word! Also so many others in our FG and not in our FG- Julie, Rose, Bruce & Roberta, Patti, Stephanie, Nancy K., Nancy D., Resa, Dan & Beth, Bobby & Christa, Carol, Laurie, Raquel, Betsy… I can’t possibly list them all! I’m so thankful for the church & the many who are willing to love well & by their example teach me to love better ❤
The woman in my fg who daily pick up their cross and follow Jesus. Praising the LORD for their faith and the many ways they have encouraged and come alongside me to keep running, to keep going, and to remain steadfast. ❤ Also my husband who washes me with the word and is lovingly pointing me to Jesus in all things.
My fellowship group encourages me.
Our group leader's wife Melanie encourages the ladies to read and study God's word. Our group shares the words of the Lord daily.
I’m so thankful God brought me to Compass HB to meet so many encouragers! Thinking of my small group now with Jayme, Sabine, Resa, and several others who I love!
There are so many who encourage me at Compass I am not sure if I could name them all. The ladies of my FG starting with Gina Buckels who prays faithfully for our group and is always available for us. Christine Murray, Nancy Davey who welcomes everyone in, Alex Peña who shows her passion for lost souls and sharing The Gospel, Raquel Branch who turns a trial into a Blessing, Ana Zaniboni who always has a hug and a smile, Shannan Andersen who has the patience of a saint, but I have to say one of my biggest encouragers has to be my daughter Jodi who is ready at all times to encourage and guide not only her children, me, but other girls in The United Group. Also my Granddaughter Annalia who faithfully is seeking Wisdom from the Bible and uses that to encourage the ladies in her small group at Underground. Then there are the guys like Zak, Mr Johnny who serve in KidsMin and set an example for the young men there. I could go on and on. I am Blessed to be part of a Church that whole heartedly serve The Lord.
Grateful for the Foundation Classes and all those who serve to make these 3 days happen! Wes, Kyle, Ariel, Shannan and all those at the table, your words and testimonies encouraged and inspired me. Thanking God for all you!
I’m encouraged by my FG leader Scott Carr and the men of that group! Thank you for encouraging me to be a man who loves the lord and loves others instead of living for myself!
I am encouraged by so many people at this church but specifically I’d like to shout out the Thompson’s! Not only are they my fellowship group leaders but they also serve in worship and kids ministry! Their lives are a true testament of Gods love and faithfulness and I am looking up to them as Godly examples. Praying that they would continue in the word and take courage!
The people who are an encouragement to me are my husband, my daughter, and the people in my FG, the greeters at our church who always have smiles on their faces, the donut/coffee people who cheerfully serve every Sunday, and the workers in Trolly Cafe. Lord bless you all and remain faithful to the Lord with steadfast purpose full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. 👊💥

I am so thankful to God that he has given me several Barnabas’ is in my life! I am so thankful for the men in my fellowship group for all the encouragement they have given me to spur me along. I am also so thankful to Pastor Bill for his guidance and also leading by example when it comes to being a doer of the word. I am also so thankful for my brother Richard Gunsolus for the conversation we have about the word of God and how he spurs me on to do more for kingdom. I am also so Thankful for my wife who always is an encouragement to me.
Josh Lawrence encourages me to keep running for the Lord as he continues to seek to apply what he learning from the Word to his life!
Every day my FG sisters encourage my socks off with God's Word and prayer and wisdom ... they point me to Jesus and follow His example and I am so grateful! There are too many to name!
Also my kids, Olivia, Annelise and Cameron! It's a very interesting thing to see that, as they've been equipped with God's Word by the pastors and other leaders at Compass, in JH/HS/Underground, they have much to say that is wise and encouraging!

Sheila Livingston is my most faithful and steadfast encourager in the Word of the Lord! I am blessed to have her and David in my life. ❤ I also love the encouragement of my fellowship group sisters and church friends who have taken time to meet and pray with me.
I have been very blessed to have a very faithful Barnabas in my life for over twenty years. I’m praying it has always been mutual and have thanked her for being the ultimate Barnabas.

I have been encouraged by some many people over the time, the guys in my small groups like Connor Marin, Paul Vasquez, Johnny Basillios, Patrick Carlson, and many other from that group. I am also encouraged by the brothers far away during college still preaching the gospel even when far away like Owen Glascoe and Jonathan Radclife. Also the high schoolers in United like Tyler Blakey, Joey Murray, Jackson Marin, Nate Nowotny. But I could never forget my old and present leaders, Foster Ringor, Michael Tadros, Dakoda Quinn, Felix San Nicholas, and Philip Smith. Through out the small amount of time I've on Compass HB the Lord has blessed with many people to walk with in this race
I’m always so encouraged by my FG leader Brenda Pierce. If you’ve never been encouraged or prayed for by Joshua Branch, you are missing out! He has brought many to the Lord through his encouragement. And if he invites you to church, he will ask until you come to church.!
Raquel Branch encouraged me in the Lord more than she will ever know! She is a pillar of strength for the Lord. She loves selflessly and heaven and people matter more than any materialistic things! I love her!❤

Blessed by Raquel Branch and her faithfulness and her friendship. Encouraged every day I step foot in the Compass Campus. Encouraged by my infant volunteer team. Encouraged by our Kids ministry leaders, by the Untied and Anchored leadership and Underground. All of these have helped in my children’s growth leading to more growth in me.
I praise the Lord for how He has used Cherish Tadros to exhort me over these past few years! Thankful for how she has continued to love & encourage me even after I graduated from her United small group!
I'm in a great Fellowship Group and it has been my experience that everyone there is a Barnabas, granted some more than others, but all in their own words, gestures, looks, laughs and deeds! Then there are so many others that my wrist will tire before I could complete the list which itself would be incomplete! We abide in a very real & loving family and may we never get weary doing what our Lord says!

God changed my mentality some years back , not what I get out of church but who God would use me to minister to, and what would he instruct me to do , as mentioned in this week’s sermon- doesn’t matter what I know, I gotta do it!!

I love this perspective! I am here because I’ve been blessed by having some “Barnabi” to encourage me along the way. Now, I want to do the same and pass on that same gift. Lord, help me and use me to be more like Barnabas. Make this church full of “Barbabi” so we can spur each other on.

I am especially encouraged by the leadership of Max Page, he has been a Barnabas to me in so many ways over the years, encouraging me and spurring me on! I am also deeply encouraged by my wife, it has been such a blessing to have her right by my side through this journey of faith!

Acts 11
25 So Barnabas went to Tarsus to look for Saul, 26 and when he found him, he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year, they met with the church and taught a great many people. And in Antioch, the disciples were first called Christians.
One of the reasons why I love Barnabus is because he believed in the potential of Saul when no one else did. In ministry, you need someone who believes in your potential to do God's work. One of those people was Pastor Bobby. In September 2021, he was one of the first I shared with him about my future desire to go back to Japan to share the gospel. He got so excited, he saw the future potential that I had to do God's work. He believed in me when I couldn’t!
We all need someone like that, to say “I believe in you, with the power of the Holy Spirit, God will accomplish many things through you”. It's difficult to believe that yourself, especially when things get challenging or there seems to be no fruit, even when you see your own sins and weaknesses. My daily encouragers are my underground small group ladies who care about my holiness and daily obedience in God 😭
Application: I was to be a Barnabus, encouraging my lot -- as we ALL need encouragement. I want to see always the potential of my ladies to do amazing things for God. Praying today that the word of God would stir them up to do amazing risk-taking things for the Lord- trusting God is more than able to use them as His mouthpiece to proclaim the good news which is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes! Praying for the CSULB team who are going to put to proclaim the good news!!
Praise the Lord! The message of salvation is for all people! Too many saints to only pick one, but I will be texting them today ❤
My fellowship group is an encouragement to me, not just on Tuesday nights.
I agree, Tam! Nancy and Sandra are our "Barnabii," leading by example, and everyone in our FG follow their lead, encouraging and challenging each other to dig deeper into the never-ending well of God's Word. To Him be the glory!
I love Sunday Nights at UG and I'm so thankful for my small group! My encourages come from my Group leaders, Cory Blakey, Rebekah Hoffman, and Catherine Gabrielson. Love these ladies so much!
It is impossible to pick one!! First, my husband is such an amazing encouragement to me especially during our current trial. His faith, trust and diligence in God’s word to lead our family speaks volumes to my soul. My HFG leaders Pastor Bill and Cory are people who have come alongside my family with much love and so blessed to have in our lives, always so generous with their time. I am so thankful for their tireless efforts they put into our group and in my life. All the ladies in my HFG continue to spur me along and love each one of them. God has gifted each one with so many special talents. Richard and Melanie Gunsolus we love, love this couple!!! We truly can do life alongside these amazing people we call friends!! Nancy Davey is always so loving and always available, she is an beyond awesome! I can be here for hours listing names. My Compass HB family is absolutely the BEST!!!! Thank you Pastor Bobby for shepherding our flock well! Thank you to all our Pastors who work hard to get the Gospel out and see people as souls.

Question: Acts 2:27 talks of prophets coming down. I hear warnings about false prophets and maybe ignorantly thought there would be no more prophets after Jesus. My question is, will there be more prophets?
