There are so many common themes in his older music, and his newer music. He's been writting about tragedy for a long time.
That got me thinking we all should know about blacklit canopy, so we can appreciate even more his art ❤️🩹

I understand the whole wanting to be “anonymous” for the sake of people respecting his privacy… but honestly, hearing him speak about his music makes me appreciate it even more than I already did… I feel a whole new level of connection to what he is conveying through his writing… love Gemma’s voice as well… both very talented

Idk, I think that they both pretty young, shy and inexperienced. I can definitely hear that he feels uncomfortable, but the questions were kinda strange, very relationship-centered. now, through the years and thanks to his new stuff it is kinda painful to liten to.

Yes, the interviewer annoyed me with that silly statement.
Robin died of from late Parkinson’s disease and paranoia which led to depression. Depression wasn’t the sole cause but a side affect.

It’s true. I’m depressed and I appear as the happiest person in the room. It’s easy to put on a face and pretend it’s all ok. Then you realize this isn’t who you really are and it’s just a character you’re portraying. I recently moved halfway across the world and finally i’m facing the demons that always haunted me. It’s incredibly difficult but i’m learning so much about myself. Creating myself and letting that go out into the world. Finally being me.
@@SleepyHallow143 I'm not sure we are talking about the same person. Robin Williams suffered depression and anxiety and died as a result of asphyxia due to hanging himself. Regardless of that the point of my comment was to say that you cannot tell whether a person is depressed or not just by looking at them and it's ridiculous of the interviewer to assume so. Depression has many faces.

Ah, interviewers...they suck. But yeah, there's no hiding that they were together. She sounds very innocent and, yes, he's setting boundaries left and right. I see that he prefers to eschew interviews entirely.

Despite popular belief most of his songs aren't about love or relationships. I get very perplexed about how people immediately go to that. If you really look at the lyrics it's easy to see what he is talking about and a lot of people have trouble interpreting them for some reason. It's always boggled my mind, and with that being said yes songs are open to interpretation you can make it about whatever you want, this the beauty of music, but i like to look at a song for what it is and feel the writers emotion, not reflect it on to me. Which is complete against what Leo has said he wants LOL but that's how i am.
@@Ghostwith_themostNice. I think great artists draw upon a whole wealth of experiences, both from their own lives and what they observe going on around them in the lives of their friends, family, and, no doubt, the wider world, to create something that will resonate with people.
That this and 'other music' touches so many people on an emotional, and even intuitive level, reveals the artist's deeper sensitivities and reflects a more than average ability, or gift, to be able to connect with others and the world around them. I guess it's inevitable that listeners and appreciators will project their own struggles onto the artist, and maybe even feel a little disappointed if the artist does not really suffer as they feel they do, but art is art, and art is rarely THE truth - it's a reflection of many truths, shared with an intention to move and inspire those who enjoy it and, in majority of cases, are also comforted by it.
In other words, 'depressed' sounding music doesn't mean that the creator is a natural depressive, for example. That's certainly not my impression of this particular artist at all. The same probably applies to relationships in a similar way. It's a reflection of all or many relationships. I am a huge fan of his work though, and continue to be moved by it. It adds something good and enriching to life.

@@a1rabidfox341 Of course there are a few. However a lot of the songs are about drugs, alcoholism, insomnia, loss/grieving, and relationship struggles with family and others. And he said it himself, he wears the mask as a barrier so you don't project his experiences on the to the songs, he wants you to make the songs have their own meaning to you based on whatever you have been through.

@Bex101-sj8ec I think he was just annoyed with the host trying to dig into his personal life. The host trying to cause a bit of drama right off the bat to spice up the interview sort of. I could see why - I feel like he thought Gemma was being attacked and jumped in to defend in a way.
