I dont think we appreciate enough how hard it is to sing when crying, still he manages not only doing it perfectly but with an explosion of visceral emotion that goes out through his voice to land directly into our bones and soul 🖤 he’s a gift from idk where but im absolutely here for it
I discovered Sleep Token recently, and have been consumed by them ever since. I was looking up Hallelujah 'cause it's one of my favorite songs, and was very pleasantly surprised to see Vessel sing it. What an absolutely breathtaking performance with him and the vessellette!!! I'm getting emotional as I'm listening to them sing.
Man hearing Vessel fighting to sing theough tears gets me. The emotion that man puts in to everything he does and experiences on stage is so incredible. I know there's pain in that voice but theres love too, and his love for what he does and those he does it for shines through.
@@kylesteeden2212Both are possible. Vessel is so connected to his music that while performing it, he does cry. He puts everything into the songs that he sings.
This song is so perfect for Vessel’s vocal range. I can’t stop coming back to it over and over ❤️ the backing vocalist’s voice is absolutely gorgeous too.
There's a moment when she starts singing, when you can hear a pin drop anywhere in the room. It's the sound of chills hitting a thousand spines at once
@@dinosuarzr0ck827 not to take away from this performance by Vessel/Espera, and the band but this blows the original away for me: th-cam.com/video/kC0A7upwuKI/w-d-xo.html
It's been 20+ years to honestly say that someone finally did this song as much justice and grace as Buckley did. Cohen wrote it, Buckley perfected it, and I'll be danged if Vessel didn't just take that torch from the late, great Jeff Buckley.
WOW I've only recently discovered this exists and keep coming back to replay it as its just so good! I hope one day we get an official recording, their voices are so perfect together 😍 I wanna hear more!
Which original? There are a gazillion versions of this song, and the original by Leonard Cohen was not nearly as much of a hit as some of the covers. (Rufus Wainright did it for Shrek, for example, so that tends to be the version people my age and younger are familiar with.)
Everything about this preformance was soul shattering, and i see many comments on here of things i was gonna say. But i haven't seen enough comments on the ending harmony, they blended the 2 voices sooo beautifully my entire body vibrated, the perfect fusion of voices
I feel like its times like this, that Vessel really loves that mask. You can hear the pain in his voice, i know you could see it in his face if it was visible
This is an absolutely beautiful cover. ❤️ The only thing that would have made it better is if Vessel had sung Leonard Cohen's original final lines: "And even though it all went wrong, I'll stand before the lord of song with nothing on my tongue but Hallelujiah". Imagine how powerful that would feel coming from him!
I think Vessel's voice is perfect for this song. I hope one day he releases an official cover
Not positive, but think he used to sing it with Gemma Matthews when in Bristol.
He officially put out Hey Yeah by Outkast
Im a 61 year old man and i just cant get enough of this band. Everything from the sound, the lyrics, and Vessels voice just takes me to anothet place.
Right there with ya bro
55 here. Same
52 and I'm obsessed with his voice! My poor husband is tortured by my playlist every time he gets in the car with me 😂
56 and YES! ❤️
59 here and spot on!
The way people react to his voice when he starts singing ✨
I cry almost every time like clockwork 😭🖤
Her voice sent shivers down my spine.
Facts
110% percent
It made me cry instantly hahaha
@@Amadeusx89 makes me tear up everytime I listen to this, god damn
I held the tears in until they both started singing together.
Them tears came out at that moment 😊
Omgeee MEEEE TOOOO. It's beauty that's almost out of this world.
Omg I’m happy I’m not the only one
The fact that there’s not an official cover of this is illegal
Big token fan but the backing vocalist had me in tears
Her melody line was stunning.. 🤌
It sounds like Gemma….

that vibrato

i can't get over the weeping sound while singing-
Vessel just playing accompaniment as he lets the vesselette shine is so pure.
They're known as espera but yes their voices are beautiful
Vessel can make the strongest men cry.. this song slayed my soul.. amazing
This man lost someone who he truly, deeply, endlessly loved. There's no other way to show emotion like that.

This is genuinely insane. Vessels voice is the most beautiful thing I have ever heard.
at 3:14 you can see a tear fall from vessels mask..
That's probably sweat lol
@@kylesteeden2212 you can literally hear him stifle cries as he's singing, that was def a tear

You can hear a difference in his voice before and after the female singer comes in. It sounds like he's recovering from weeping, and it's beautiful.
V (5) the backup singer though… What a balsam of a voice that woman has.
The vocals are so beautiful it's enough to make u cry
This song is so perfect for Vessel’s vocal range. I can’t stop coming back to it over and over ❤️ the backing vocalist’s voice is absolutely gorgeous too.
Goosebumps from the backing vocal!!!!!! Vesselettes bring so much to the table
Wow! I wish we had a professional record of this
So do I.. 😫

bawling at this again i literally cant handle this video
lord save me i cant stop crying
Such a special song and they executed it perfectly
One of the best covers of Jeff Buckley's version I've seen... So beautiful
Didn’t think I could ever find one that could compare to Buckleys but this is pretty close! Their voices are perfect for it
No it just... isn't. Lol.@@dinosuarzr0ck827
My sentiments exactly.
Leonard Cohen, but loved the Buckley version

dang, wishing this was on Spotify
I think we all do 🥲
This moves me to tears, make me find a purpose to keep going, thanks for recording this masterpiece of music.
I've been a sleep token fan for ages - why is this the first time I'm hearing this!? Stunning 😍
Sound tech needs a round of applause too, that is a beautiful mix.
Hallelujah Amen 🙏🤲🪽😇🪽🫶. I love this song. 💓🎼🎙️🎸🎶🎧.
Thank you God for such a beautiful cover of such a precious song❤
i think he had a spiritual awaking while singing this so pure great jobbbbb !!
Omg I'm so blown away by vessel love him so much😢 ❤
5... V... she's got the voice of an angel. ❤
I'm not a huge fan of gospel music, but this needs to be released on ALL platforms.
This is not gospel. This was by a Jewish man who was also a Buddhist. People keep thinking it's Christian but it is not
Господь, слава Тебе за такие таланты!🙌
Fuel for the mind
This is up there with Jeff's version. Beautiful rendition. Love a studio recording of this song with the vessellette's verse.
i wasn’t ready for that cover when i got it recommended even though i knew vessel would do it heart wreakingly…but i didn’t expect THAT
I was searching for this song because it's a favorite of mine. What a nice surprise to find this version as a new Sleep Token fan. I love it. ❤️

Blacklit Canopy vibes
I think that a room being moved to praise says a lot.
Especially that room. We all love a little a gospel. It’s food to the soul regardless
❤
Holy FUCK! That woman’s voice is… just… wow. Obviously Vessel, too. But the woman caught me off guard.
daaaaamn
Reckon it was Lynsey for the vocalist support solo?
Exploring Birdsong.
🖤♥️
Just a theory, but does anyone think the female singer could be Gemma Mathews from Blacklit Canopy?
It isn't!
I still think Jacob Anderson is Vessel. Either way, this is incredible.
Ok, so i guess we can add Jeff Buckley to the list of people who might be Vessel. Srsly. V could easily play in a biopic on Buckley.
