Not only does his voice give you chills by the quality, power and emotion, but the Holy Spirit is also giving us chills and drawing us to Him. God is working mightily in this song, despite what Dan's beliefs are. I personally have no idea (about Dan's spiritual beliefs), but God is using him to get this song out to both believers and non believers. I hope he'll do more hymns. I listen to it several times a day, get the shivers and chills each time. Then I pray and thank God for this man's talent!

That is the most awesome version I've EVER heard of this song. Dan Vasc made the listeners truly FEEL every word of that song. He gave that song the respect it certainly deserves. He has an enormous & beautiful vocal range. Dan sang that song with softness at first, slowly building with intensity, then with that AMAZING harmonica solo... OMG!!! That totally put it over that top!!! I mean it blew it out of the park... No! Blew it out of ALL the parks!!! It gave me goosebumps all over. I FELTS GOD'S presence while watching & listening to this video. That may be why I just can't stop watching it over & over. I've been binge watching all of Dan Vasc's other videos too. His music is great. Some of the heavier metal is out of what I prefer in music, but for the most part I just love listening to him sing. In my opinion Dan Vasc should stay out of the music labels and he as much admitted that himself by saying the contracts wanted the $$ from you tube. He likes being in control in what he can do. Go explore Dan Vasc’s, TH-cam channel. This man is not getting enough credit! Yes, he’s a heavy metal, power metal singer, however, the versatility of his voice is amazing. You won’t know until you go listen to the various songs that he sings. Yes, he did some songs from the Witcher, but he does a lot of 80s covers, he does bard songs, Scarborough fair is amazing. He also does operatic, his hallelujah song covers for part harmony. Dan Vasc is amazing!

I'm 63 and only 2 songs have really, REALLY brought me to tears. I was 7 when Elvis performed his comeback special live on TV in '68. My mom (RIP mom...I miss you so much) was a massive Elvis fan, like damn near every woman (regardless of age) alive in the States and, I remember sitting and listening to his song....If I Can Dream. With racial tension as it was in the '60s, his song had THE message the country needed hearing. (I only bring up that decade because it was the decade of my childhood) I honestly remember listening to that song and, even as just a boy...it touched my heart. I still listen to that song every now and again and, it STILL bloody gets me in the heart. Having found and listened to Dan's (who is Brazilian and multilingual) version of a song I have sang and listened to thousands of times in my lifetime, I can hand on heart, confess his version touched my heart. The raw power of his voice is..... majestic. I listened to Elvis (he had a voice like no other....sadly he had his demons and, he departed this Earth much too early. I was a Soph in HS when he died) today...and cried...HARD. I've listened to Dan sing Amazing Grace several times today alone and, I cried...HARD every bloody time. I always thought of myself as tough guy BUT, damn if these 2 songs haven't put me in my place....on the knees of my heart.

Correction, his dad gave him that harmonica when Dan was 7 years old, but his dad didn't pass away until 2017. But there's no doubt Dan had his very personal reasons for bringing the harmonica into this particular song.

I was as blown away as you were when I heard this. As a Christian this song is very meaningful to me and the fact that it was written by a former slave ship captain makes it even more touching. This is by far my favorite version of this song.

Dan Vasc is so amazing!! He's Brazilian - native language is Portuguese. He took lessons and worked really hard to get this good. His dad gave him a harmonica when Dan was 7 (his dad passed away from cancer about 5 years ago). Dan puts his whole soul into every performance. He is so versatile and can sing anything. He has an incredible collection of work - please do reactions to more of his videos! I would have to agree Boyz!! I've heard this song a million times, I've performed Amazing Grace 500 times when I marched with the drum Corp of the Scottish Highlander Band in high school. Hearing the bag pipes, with the full band, brought tears to my eyes, but hearing Dan Vasc sing this hymn made the hair on my neck, and arms stand straight up. I'm certain that when God the Father hears Dan belt out this historic Hymn... he's smiling at the idea of blessing this young man !!!

Dive deep into his channel; he's got a wide range of artists that he's covered, plus original stuff with his band Fearless. From the teasers he put out on his social media while working on this, I knew it would be a banger, but I didn't expect it to be this huge. Should have, though. Go explore Dan Vasc’s, TH-cam channel. This man is not getting enough credit! Yes, he’s a heavy metal, power metal singer, however, the versatility of his voice is amazing. You won’t know until you go listen to the various songs that he sings. Yes, he did some songs from the Witcher, but he does a lot of 80s covers, he does bard songs, Scarborough fair is amazing. He also does operatic, his hallelujah song covers for part harmony. Dan Vasc is amazing!

I've listened to this about, a half dozen times now, and cry more each time I hear it than I did before. This is my favourite hymn of all time, and I have heard it hundreds of times over, I think, but NEVER, EVER, like this. This has to be one of the very, best renditions of this hymn I have EVER, heard and the man, very much, does it exceeding, justice. I'm 63 and only 2 songs have really, REALLY brought me to tears. I was 7 when Elvis performed his comeback special live on TV in '68. My mom (RIP mom...I miss you so much) was a massive Elvis fan, like damn near every woman (regardless of age) alive in the States and, I remember sitting and listening to his song....If I Can Dream. With racial tension as it was in the '60s, his song had THE message the country needed hearing. (I only bring up that decade because it was the decade of my childhood) I honestly remember listening to that song and, even as just a boy...it touched my heart. I still listen to that song every now and again and, it STILL bloody gets me in the heart. Having found and listened to Dan's (who is Brazilian and multilingual) version of a song I have sang and listened to thousands of times in my lifetime, I can hand on heart, confess his version touched my heart. The raw power of his voice is..... majestic. I listened to Elvis (he had a voice like no other....sadly he had his demons and, he departed this Earth much too early. I was a Soph in HS when he died) today...and cried...HARD. I've listened to Dan sing Amazing Grace several times today alone and, I cried...HARD every bloody time. I always thought of myself as tough guy BUT, damn if these 2 songs haven't put me in my place....on the knees of my heart.

But there's no doubt Dan had his very personal reasons for bringing the harmonica into this particular song.

I was as blown away as you were when I heard this. As a Christian this song is very meaningful to me and the fact that it was written by a former slave ship captain makes it even more touching. This is by far my favorite version of this song.

Dan Vasc is so amazing!! He's Brazilian - native language is Portuguese. He took lessons and worked really hard to get this good. His dad gave him a harmonica when Dan was 7 (his dad passed away from cancer about 5 years ago). Dan puts his whole soul into every performance. He is so versatile and can sing anything. He has an incredible collection of work - please do reactions to more of his videos! So many good songs, but try Gethsemane, My Mother Told Me, Bring Me to Life, Witcher covers, Handel's Messiah, Battle Hymn, Last Ride of the Day -- so many great performances. I do believe God is using him . I seen an interview with him he was saying getting into the music industry was very easy for him. Sometimes God chooses people and blesses them to do his work. I do believe that he is an angel sent straight from heaven.
I would have to agree Boyz!! I've heard this song a million times, I've performed Amazing Grace 500 times when I marched with the drum Corp of the Scottish Highlander Band in high school. Hearing the bag pipes, with the full band, brought tears to my eyes, but hearing Dan Vasc sing this hymn made the hair on my neck, and arms stand straight up. I'm certain that when God the Father hears Dan belt out this historic Hymn... he's smiling at the idea of blessing this young man !!!
