Funny Andy mentioned the “Darth Vader” shot because this movie was in fact shot by cinematographer Greg Fraser who also shot Rogue One! And Dune! The guy is on a roll.

Michael Giacchino also composes this movie's soundtrack, and he composed Rogue One too - so he actually did the music for that Vader shot! He also did all three Spiderman MCU movies.

Exactly. Bruce Wayne isn’t trying to impress people with his muscle mass. No reason he should have to be shredded, especially in his early years.
I'm not sure what you would call it but I love the muted comic book look of this movie. It somehow looks grounded and real but also like its out of a comic book. If that makes sense.
Matt Reeves is straying away from the tactical-minded and aesthetically pleasing vehicles seen in other films and has instead seemingly souped up his ride from a muscle car to be lean, mean, and terrifying.Given that the film takes place in the early years of Bruce Wayne's career as a crimefighter, Reeves wanted to not only get more rudimentary, but also craft a vehicle as intimidating as Batman himself, resulting in him using Stephen King's novel Christine as inspiration for his take on the ride.
Reeves recently shared this with Empire Magazine. "I liked the idea of the car itself as a horror figure, making an animalistic appearance to really scare the hell out of the people Batman's pursuing and it has to make an appearance out of the shadows to intimidate, so I thought of it almost like Stephen King's Christine,"

Reeves said when he was writing the script he was listening to a lot of 90s grunge and nirvana something in the way is what gave him the tone and vibe he was going for. That’s why Bruce feels like a edgy brooding Kurt Cobain. I love it and I’m here for it.

I love the feeling of how Batman is on the razors edge of going bad. He's unhinged and angry and his one rule is the only thing keeping him from crossing that line

I think Reeves is pulling a lot from Zero Year. Riddler being the big baddie, and the flooding of the city is straight from the comics. Riddler was also heavily involved in the corporate side of Gotham in those comics too, so it can make sense why he has so much dirt on The Waynes.
That’s exactly what I’m thinking I wouldn’t be surprised if the other half of the film is literally Zero Year

I’m with Nick on how it’ll be awesome to see two(three really) great actors in Dano and Pattinson (and Farrell) opposing one another. Pattinson has really made a comeback with Goodtime, The Lighthouse, Tenet, The King, and even The Devil All The Time. Hard to think of a previous Batman with this kind of momentum leading up to their first Batman film. Now we just need Chalamet as Terry McGinnis.
"Pattinson has really made a comeback" - How so? He was never gone. Some immature children made fun of his role in Twilight, which was his first and only big Hollywood mainstream movie(series). Other than those movies, he has an amazing track record.

The Bronze coloring in this definitely evokes a lot of the coloring used in the comics better than many of the past movies did, which just went with an overall dark/gray color palette. I like it.
Nick Mentioned the Original Matrix had a green tint, that actually was added after the sequels to make it fit the tone of the sequels.

Loved the reaction but I disagree with Greg saying it looks nothing like the Batman movies that came before? 8:40 It’s clearly drawing inspiration from the Christopher Nolan movies to me. I love that. The atmosphere is definitely different, But still dark and gritty. Without Nolan’s movies this incarnation wouldn’t exist.
Yea this is definitely Nolan-verse esque. It’s changing the homework enough to make sure that nobody finds out.
Saw a work-in-progress top secret screening of this movie last November and you all will not be disappointed.

The police chasing Batman reminds me of the police chase in Batman Mask of the Phantasm.
I am looking forward to this film, I hope this is the final trailer as it is feeling like anything more would be spoilers at this rate.
I do hope Catwoman is more of a person in the film. In all of the trailers they have sold her as sexy and violent, but nothing other than that, that might hint to a character with depth.

Insane how this movie is quite literally carrying DC on its back. Matt Reeves is a god, and I know he’s going to deliver. This one will be special.
WB continues to fumble the bag and disappoint me with the flash news. Funny enough, I felt they were finally finding their stride with Shazam, Birds of Prey, and The Suicide Squad (all great). Getting rid of Cavill, who is such a nerd and massive fan, is a huge mistake.
Man, I feel the exact same. Still hype to see Keaton again, but that’s the biggest reason I’m even excited about Flash. I like Ezra a little better in the role after Snyder’s cut, but still not super thrilled about it.

Is it just me or does this look like it might be slightly more goofy (in the best way) than it's letting on? The marketing is clearly selling it as a very Fincher-esque hardcore crime story Batman flick, but I think it might be more comic-booky than it's letting on. That alone has me more excited than anything. And yeah, I'm with Tim, getting BIG TIME Court of Owls vibes.
Also, not gonna happen, but how psyched would everyone get if that whole sewers bit with bats leading those cops out turned into a Croc chase scene like Arkham Asylum?

I will never understand the argument/complaint of a trailer showing "too much" of a film. Trailers are averaged around 2 mins long, for a film that is at least 2 1/2 hrs long. It's showing things to get you hyped, but there is still PLENTY of movie that we've not seen.
I don't need to see anymore, i haven't needed to see anymore since the first trailer. I just need me a giant Coke Zero now.

Wanted to see more of the Villains in this movie,, but looks like Catwoman will be the largest part of this movie & are making her a Star. Looks like their turning this into a Love Story, which I didn't want it to be. I wanted this to be a Batman movie. Can't wait for March 4th
I wish they based this in the 90's however. It would fit timeline wise with Joaquin's (even though I didn't like his ) Joker age and the "look" of Seven and noir style. I still believe that that Joker will show up again but he would theoretically be in his 60's if this Batman series is present day setting.. :/
I honestly hope we never see that depiction again. I don’t think it works as the joker, and I definitely don’t think it works opposed to any form of Batman. That dude isn’t a criminal mastermind or a leader in any way. He’s just an at times unstable person that killed a few people.

I still can’t get past the fact that Batman get lit up by two clips of automatic weapons and acting like bullets don’t fucking hurt and have stopping power, bullet proof or not.
It sets a tone that there’s really no threat to him, which isn’t Batman’s thing. Batman is supposed to be smarter than everyone else and capable of finding ways to avoid mortal danger.
That's an experienced Batman. This iteration of Batman is no where near experienced. Again, this is Year 2. Bruce Wayne has very different motives for putting the Batsuit on. He is looking to inflict pain rather than serve justice because he's a young Batman. He's not the watchful protector yet. So him taking all those bullets makes his crazy which is what Batman is. He's a messed up dude. He dresses up like a bat every night. Batman is crazy and he's just as worse as his villains.
@@husain_himself8606 but having him invulnerable means there is no stakes to this. If he can just get lit up everywhere but his mouth, and his foes are too stupid to shoot there, that breaks the entire world.

@@husain_himself8606 That can only happen if the stakes are set correctly. This is a gritty, grounded film. Bullets hurt and have immense force behind them. You can't suspend disbelief that much when you're essentially setting it in the barely modified real world.

It’s mainly cause of Covid. Remember that this was pushed, along with everything else. I didn’t need another trailer after the first footage from DC fandome 2020, but here we are. Marketing has to keep people invested.
If all these horrible rumors about the new direction of the DCEU are somehow true, then this is now the only DC movie that I'm excited for. Thanks for ruining everything WB.

Definitely not satisfied with Batgirl & Supergirl as replacements for Bats and Supes (I love all four characters but not in place of one another) but I would take it in a second if it meant I didn't have to suffer through another Snyder movie.

Glad everyone is looking forward to this, the more I see the less I want to see the movie 😂 PTSD Bruce is meh and even though the shot of him walking down the corridor getting shot and not giving a fuck looks dope as fuck, but it removes the stakes, so he's basically indestructible in his normal suit :/ plus weird creepy serial killer seems cool just wish it wasn't the riddler, The Gotham riddler nailed it with the cunning and evil with the side of actually enjoying the twisted shit he does, I know he's not really a top tier villan and has been used in BOP but he feels more like a darker zsasz. I know it's just trailers and I will watch this at some point to see if I feel the same as everyone els, ( that batmobile looks so damn cool )
you guys are just another group of critics with an opinion. Snyder cut is not the best and all it did was pit Superman vs Batman and in the end kill Batman, which is a nonstarter for most fans.
