In regard to Beauty Counter list - I believe another creator tried to even contact BC customer service and I don't think they ever provided her the list. So it seems sketchy overall. I think the company used to show the full list or they had it in the backend for reps to share. It's a red flag that they wouldn't show the full list (even as a pdf) openly online to the rest of us.

The best part about the post criticizing the FDA is that the laxity of the regulations of non-drug and non-food items (thanks to the lobbying by supplement companies, amongst others), is exactly what allows all these health and wellness MLMs to sell their products!
If you need a different one for the letter P(other than Pruvit).There's a little known pet MLM called Pawtree. I haven't seen much on them, though, but I haven't looked either.
Fail #4 -- The subtext here is that a leader brought a downline from one MLM to another, thereby launching her to the top of the comp plan AND YET she appears to be setting herself up to selling coaching services. This is a very common trajectory for successful MLMers. It may be the ONLY way to succeed apart from starting your own MLM
Great video, I really enjoy your perspective! Small detail -- "innocent until proven guilty" is a criminal-law standard and doesn't imply that a product must be presumed safe until proven harmful. Unfortunately, a "supplement" is not held to pharmaceutical safety standards. So Amare, etc. can get away with a lot if they word their claims carefully. 😒

Yeah, the US has *such lax standards* when it comes to “supplements and vitamins” even tho we consume them and they can be very dangerous. It’s scary! As a teen/young adult, I messed around with (totally over the counter) supplements and diet pills that caused me lasting organ damage. 😳

I can't take anyone seriously who sells "Happy Juice". Between that and the photoshopped or filtered photo of the skinny model, I don't think they are doing much for their desired image as a serious "mental wellness" company.
Nail polish manufacturered in the same factory is formulated one way for the EU and less safe chemicals for the US. It stands to reason that most beauty products do this also.
Before these bomb party MLMs came out, there were a couple companies who sold ACTUAL bath bombs w/ some type of jewelry inside. But the point was to enjoy a bath soak w/ the bomb, and then see whatever was inside (probably cheap jewelry, but at least you had a nice bath soak). Watching someone else fizz the bomb and show you the ring inside...what is the point of that? Just let me pick a ring I like and order it! Also, my brother-in-law is a serial MLM'er (with some forays into Ponzi schemes too), and he sold Enagic for a little while, and swore it improved his daughter's health. But a few months later he was on to the next MLM, and we never heard about it again.
True, it would probably be more fun to do the party yourself. And to reveal your own gems. I hope your brother-in-law will eventually get out of the MLM/Ponzi sphere. Thank you for sharing.

I’m curious if the huns act very similarly to the English-speaking ones, or if they change the approach. Some aspects of MLM (like the strong pro-capitalism rhetoric and connection to evangelical Christianity) just seem so American at heart that I wonder how they culturally translate. Are the tactics different in countries with more social supports, like healthcare and child care?
