As the live mic race announcer for Mammoth Tuff and having myself promoted a few bike races in my day, hats off to Amanda and Sheek! They did a great job and did so many cool things for their racers! Thanks for the great video!
@@GravelBikeCalifornia Next year event on my calendar. Alot of Socal people there it looks like. This summer/fall rebuilding my rim brake cx bike post peak pandemic and looking forward to using for more than just cx races.
Loved this video. My family goes camping at Rock Creek Lake every year and I'm joining them next week. I'm going to do a loop around Benton Crossing and Hot Creek while I'm up there. I'm still a very beginner cyclist (longest ride is 43 miles on pavement with 1500 feet of elevation) but I'm aspiring to do Tuff next year!
Right across that lake is one of the most epic mountain bike routes in this area. The Wheeler Ridge/ Wheeler Lake Trail. The DH section drops a few thousand ft, and puts you down just south of Toms place. It's a loose old jeep trail that is so full of pumice that you sort of have to "ski" down it. File under EPIC!
@@GravelBikeCalifornia I am getting a big group of my athletes to come out to race and support Amanda & Sheek would be rad to meet up with yall. this one has been on my list for awhile le'ts hope mother nature keeps it mellow for us!

Great job through and through. I'm sure everyone left feeling the same way.
Sooo much fun…! Did short course, next year the medium…! Grrreat video…!
I might try the long. Might...
Eastern sierra, one my favorite photo regions.
Especially in October!!

The sand. The wind. The elevation. This episode gave me PTSD. Yet I'll probably still do it again next year.
I've learned Rock Cobbler style to scare myself silly before rides so that the reality isn't as bad as my imagination...
This is a super 🎉 episode! I am planning a great Gravel ride Bridgeport, CA to Hawthorn, NV.
Oooh. Send me that route!

I think the short course at Tuff is a great starter to get people to fall in love with gravel. So much packed into it!

So many great options up there. I'm heading back in a couple of weeks...
I love the eastern Sierras. Lot fewer people than over on the west side of 'em
Yeah. You could double the visitors and it would still be quieter.
yeh man!
Can't wait for September again!

What size tires do you suggest since you've done it?
I rode with 42s which felt like a good balance.
Thanks for the details
