Wtf, 1080P is fine for a 5" phone but not for a 6" one? As if there's a huge difference between 5" and 6“ lol. If you need a QHD screen that bad get the Mate 9 Pro, with Huawei at least you have a choice.
Im writing this comment from my Huawei Mate 8, it's amazing and I really love it, best quality, best battery on any smart phone for sure, and now Mate 9 looks even better, Well done Huawei :)
I love my Mate 8 and actually don't mind EMUI, but that notification icon thing is a deal breaker for me. It's about as stupid as the lockscreen bell on the Axon 7, but at least Axon listened to us and fixed that.
All I see are reviews after reviews but no news from Huawei on when this will be available in the U.S...I'm thinking about buying the unlocked version..

If Huawei wanted you to pronounce it "wawei", they would have translated their company name from pictograms into Wawei, not into Huawei. If someone tells you otherwise, they should correct the spelling of their name in western languages.
I do wonder how many average consumers use 4k video recording? No one I know does as it means high storage needs. I suspect it only concerns youtube reviewers and IMO its not in the Top 100 features when choosing a phone. As for setting up your phone, it may be different to Samsung, but hey thats good, and you probably do it once when you setup for the first time. So moaning about changing launcher is a bit churlish. This phone is another choice in a crowded Android market, little change from last year's top tier phones and it is clear smart phones have now reached a glass ceiling, much like laptops did years ago.I suspect users will be upgrading less and less which ties in with most of the OEMs making losses. My iphone 6 plus still does the job despite being 2+ years old and stuff like iris scanning, water resistance, wireless charging dont really innovate, just another way to do the same thing. Android has had QHD for years and that wont change for years so gimmicks aside its just> looks

JZ VR yes they are, a 1080p in a 5 inch display will have 441 ppi while the 6 inch will have 327ppi. Now that's a huge gap in term of sharpness

Go to settings, notification bar then notification method and select icons. This will activate the notifications settings

For those concerned with the notification thingy, just download and use blackberry hub, problem solved.

Daniel Zacatenco that happens with all Huawei Mate phones apparently. I have the Mate 7 and it does the same. It's annoying sometimes.
