Great song and great singer. I was introduced to his music today on WNCW. This song reminds me of my old man, my pop. Definitely reflects our relationship. I got home about 48 hours before his death. I was an 18 year old soldier. I think of him everyday and songs like this bring a tear to my eye.
going to see this man tomorrow night in Cork , Ireland . the best i have heard in last 10 yrs , such feeling such soul , great musicians and singers out there but little soul , this man has it in spades , long may he ply his trade .
One of the great songs beautifully rendered but almost everyone misses the subtlety of the last chorus: throughout the song they are "like" desperados waiting for a train, but after it reveals that the train is death we "are" desperados waiting for a train. Listen to Guy sing it. He never sang "like" after the last verse.
