@@HaoNguyen-nl3fz my viet mother played a lot of Chinese pop music by artists like Andy lau and we didn’t know any Chinese lol. But I grew up listening to it. Also so many fans of anime grow up listening to Japanese music but don’t understand the language. Or fans of kpop. So it’s certainly possible.

That is indeed lovely. However, my Southern Vietnamese friends laugh at performances of Cai Luong by Northerners. Each region has wonderful music and a dialect and Hoi that goes along with it.
Glad that you like it. But the Cải lương originated in Southern Vietnam, what you're hearing now is Quan họ or Quan họ Bắc Ninh, which originated in Bắc Ninh province in the North of Vietnam. And, yes, many Vietnamese young people don't like the Cải lương. I'm a Vietnamese myself but I can't listen to Cải lương for over 2 minutes. However, I enjoy Quan họ very much. Great to see foreigners like our music. If there is a chance, please come to Vietnam
Cải lương is that kind of “renewed” music during the time of cultural revolution when the leaders tried to get rid of ancient art and singing by slowly changing the content in those art forms. It is just not my cup of tea tho. I really enjoy Quan Họ and Xoan singing and you can actually find some pieces being sung in a modern yet the quintessence is still preserved by Hồng Duyên.

@@mttk2610 Nhỡ bạn ý là người miền Nam thì sao bạn. Nam Bắc có nhiều từ vựng khác nhau nhất là dân ca cổ ở 2 miền lại càng khác nên khó hiểu cũng đúng mà bạn! 🤣
@@fnrjekkdbrnrj9972 😅 mình thấy bài này thuộc dạng cực kỳ dễ hiểu luôn í, có những bài khó hiểu lắm nếu ko hay tìm hiểu hay là nghe về tích cổ ví dụ bài Dương Xuân có nhắc tới "Sói Lan" mn nghe sẽ ko hiểu nó là hoa Sói và hoa Lan, rồi bài Con gà rừng sẽ có từ "thung huyên", hay nhiều bài cổ nx vsi dụ như chúc hỗ nó full hán việt với điển tích😅
