    Welcome to Zentangle Project Pack No. 18!
    Tangle along with Molly and Martha as they guide you through the 1st video in the Zentangle Project Pack No. 18 series! We are excited to explore our brand new Translucen-Z tiles in this series and we recommend watching the introduction video first. You can watch the Introduction video here: • Zentangle Project Pack...
    The Zentangle Method has a beautiful way of illuminating the artist within us. It is magical what we can do with paper, pencil, and pen. Each basic stroke connects directly to the artist, no two ever the same. Each stroke layers with others to create amazing compositions. Delicate bits of graphite and white chalk create illusions of light passing through. Or is it an illusion at all?
    Perhaps the light is truly coming through.
    Join us for our eighteenth Project Pack as we tackle uncharted Zentangle territories. This very special Project Pack welcomes a new paradigm in the Zentangle world. Using this special new tangling surface, we are eager to share techniques that allow us to explore creating layers with light and shadow.
    Can you learn to see through? Can you believe that there is something more on the other side?
    Take a deep look inside and out, and trust that the light will come through.
    Upload your work to the Zentangle Mosaic App or other social media with the hashtags #PP18, #PP18Day01and #translucenZ and we will be featuring some of your uploads in this series newsletters!

    The graphite on this paper before smoothing looks like Bijou has been here… a snail trail!

    I am excited! I have a whole set of Sakura gelly roll, pens, and I am taking my extra tiles with me to my work desk and during downtime at work today I’m going to thoroughly explore what all of the different jelly roll pens do. I have metallic, I have glitter, I have three-dimensional, Sakura jelly, and in all kinds of different colors… I am excited! This vellum is an excellent material and I can’t wait to see what different media are like on it.

    I’m signed up for training course CZT #39 which starts in mid September. I received a wonderful box of materials for the course which I have examined but not used…promise! But I noticed some of these tiles and was wondering what they were. Well having watched the intro vid to this series I know now…and can’t wait for the course to use them. Thank you for everything you do.

    looks like fun! my pp white Gellyroll works on other papers, but is not working on the new vellum paper. Sigh! I've moved to a #10 white Gellyroll that does behave on the vellum.

      Hi Debbie, we do talk a little bit about the white belly roll in the intro video and how it is not great for tangling in this paper!

    Beautiful - but does the soft pastel rub off, or does the burnishing with the tortilon prevent that?

    Hi! Your videos are always inspirational to me! Thank so much! I have a pragmatic question for you: is there any way to sharp and renew the tourtillon when “ruined”? I’ve tried with the pencil sharpener but it really doesn’t deliver a neat results 😓

    • @Zentangle
      @Zentangle  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you unwrap a large paper clip, and insert it into the other end of the tortillon and push hard until you see the tip “grow”. This will bring it back to life for a bit longer. But they don’t last forever.

      I use sandpaper to sharpen mine. It also helps clean them off so I don't have to switch between different tortillons so often. The dust can make you sneeze, though.

    Fun tools and ideas. The term they were looking for at minute 13:00 was rounding -- the line around the orb, holding it in place: 'rounding'.
