C'est pas un mauvais pick, c'est un super patineur tres fluide pour sa taille et as une vision de jeu hors normes et pourra etre pairer avec Lane Hutson, bref c'est pas mauvais d'avoir un défenseur de ce calibre élite.
Par contre, il sera toujours comparer a d'autres joueurs comme Michkov ce qui sera une pression suplémentaire malheureusement.
Of course il va etre compared a mich. Imagine si mich arrive dans 3-4 ans et brule la ligue et finit top 5 pointeur, pendant que reinbacher finit sur la 2e pair defensive. On est allergique au superstar a mtl, c'est absurde. T'as vue la face a Briere quand il a repecher michkov? Il savait sur quoi il mettait la main

For better or worse, its pretty clear Kent Hughes likes to put his stamp on drafts and isnt afraid to raise eyebrows by passing on popular prospects. Not sure I would have passed on Michkov given the lack of elite scoring in the past couple decades for the Habs, but respect to Kent for sticking to his guns.

I’ll say as a Habs fan I feel like the true reason the Leafs falter in the playoffs is their defence. Reilly was good, but just a couple upgrades to that defence can make the Leafs an actual Stanley Cup contender for once.

@@martinmcneill7821 True, there are multiples problems picking michkov, most people couldn't even see him playing in person therefore there could be a lot of speculations, the habs allready have a couple of good small players, if you want success in playoffs you can have some smaller players but they need biggers teamates around them otherwise it can become a problem, Michkov is likely staying in russia for 3 more years so not as much control over is development and lastly the bigger holes in the habs roster are on defense, you can have good seasons with a team mostly built on offense, but you won't have good playoffs if you don't also have good players on defense.
Some people think we have enough prospect on defense, they should remember that a couple years ago people thought that our center depth was crazy good with Suzuki, KK, Poehling and Evans. Only Suzuki became a top center out of them. If we end up with 2 elite defensemen out of our D prospects we are probably lucky.
When this draft is proposed as a high one for the most offensive talent, I think the HABS will be drafting in the top 8 again next year

And Mailloux may not pan out. Barron is the other. Both are late 1rst round picks so the % probability of one of them becoming a top 2 defensemen is not very high. Top 4, maybe? hopefully! Reinbacher is a good move. Still a lot of work to be done for his development though.

Mailloux’s a stud and apparently so is this kid. Stacked D teams are tough to play against and are in the Stanley cup convo every year. I’m upset they didn’t roll the dice on michkov but this is a really smart safe long term, contending team for years move. Great defense also makes your goalie way better. After letting it settle, im happy with this and the direction we’re headed. #gohabs

Ça c’est pour les situations les plus difficiles pour une équipe mais si t’as un joueur hors pair.
Même si tu augmenterai le rythme de tout ça en fesant du fast forward avec un joueur attaquant hors pair et qui s’améliorerai à un point extrême et qui serait devenu supérieur au jeu,ça se joue entre lui et les buts qu’il fait.
Question: "What's his potential?" Answer: "A D2". You know what Michkov's potential is? 50 goals, 100pts. Kent and his team know 1000x more than me about hockey, so I have to trust them, but boy oh boy do I have a hard time getting my head around this choice at #5. Unless Reinbacher becomes the second coming of Roman Josi or the team he builds wins a Cup, he will be known as the GM who passed on Michkov...

I get the needs on a RD. But this draft was loaded with amazing forwards. But once again they pick for needs and not the best playee available. We are loaded defensively but what beyond Caufield and Suzuki in offense ? Most of our forwards are projects... I think he missed the boat in this one..

Une saison de misere !! Il y avais de quoi s’accrocher car il y avais un tres bon pick au bout du tunnel .
Michkov est le genre de joueur qui est electrisant et que nous aimons ! Caufield nous l’a prouvé ! C’est ce genre de joueur qui donne envie d’ecouter la game +++ . Pour moi ce choix est la plus grande déception depuis que je suis fan de l’equipe en 95! Reinbacher sera un excellent defenseur surement mais ne sera jamais un def de 100pts qui nous fais vivre le genre d’émotions qu’un michkov est capable ! Je suis de moin en moin interesser par le ch. D- pour le pick !!
les points n'est pas les seules choses qui compte. nous avons besoin que'lqun qui peut aider de produire des victoires dans les series. Les meilleurs pointeurs dans LNH (matthews, mcdavid, marner ect) cherche toujours leur premiere coupe stanley.

Un def droit 2-3-4 est effectivement difficile à dénicher mais mon opinion est que michkov est le genre de talent encore plus rare ! Il a dominer bedard au championnats ou ils etais les deux en competition ! Un droitier peux toujours finir par se trouver mais un michkov j’en suis beaucoup moin certain . Je comprends que l’organisation à défini dans ses plans le futur de hutson et caufeild comme joueurs devant etre supporter aux max afin de leur donner la chance d’atteindre leur plein potentiel( vue qu’il est extremement élevé) et que le tout dois être baigné dans un bassin de joueur ayant l’identitée de l’équipe à coeur . J’aime la cible de type de vstiaire que l’organisation vise car â mes yeux c’est exactement le genre de mentalité qui produit des gagnants . Chose certaine , nous avons possiblement la meilleure defensive de la ligue d’ici 4 ans !

Heureux pour Reinbacher mais la plus grosse lacune du CH n’a pas été réglé, au deuxième draft de rebuild.. On a encore besoin d’un deuxième sniper naturel. Beaucoup trop de D’s, trop de C’s, trop de prospects forward Top 9 et - .. Newhook sera bon mais ne remplira JAMAIS ce rôle.
Vivement un ou quelques trade parce que le roaster ne fait aucun sens et encore moins pour une 3e et dernière année "officielle" de rebuild.
