Michkov was the pick to make, you take the most talented player available, especially when he has Ovechkin like numbers. Hughes messed up the easiest pick of his life a year after he messed up the first overall pick.

Michkov has a terrible character, he fought with a teammate in training, the contract is until 2026, and here is a ready-made defender for the NHL, look at the distances, but I am sure that this choice is good and Michkov will be the second Yakupov

Love this pick as a Habs fan. Defense core could be insane in a couple seasons. Vegas won the cup with their top point getter in reg season having like 65 points lol. Oilers best two offensive players in the league by far and they still get man handled by a team like Vegas in playoffs.

Their defense really suxka and sure they have 4 good prospects but not at this level. 1st austrain defenseman in top 5 he isn't something to take with a grain of Salt, more then skill that's commitment determination and dedication and that's what every orgnzation needs. The Canadians are not out of the hole yet but with this I think they have what it takes to be cup contenders for years to come this has been an successful rebuild in my opnion... I feel like their forward group is more locked in the defense so I wouldn't hype the forward group so much without realizing defense is just as important even if it's not point producing machines...
On the other hand, how did ARI not puck mitchkov it literally makes no sense. Ari has little to no scoring and their defensive group is pretty good if you ask me it's lack of that scoring touch
