a useful thing i realized is that on adventurer fights the big circle in the sky blinks before the extra attack, helps in situations like your act 3 adventurer fight lol

You can get more dark hearts with one of the dark abilities, there's on on the bottom row that gives you 2 hearts for each dark enemy killed, but you lose those extra ones if you get hit in the same room. It's harder to max out dark abilities that have 3 upgrades, but it's definitely not impossible.

I was thinking about how it'd been ages since you posted a Monkey King run, then he gets posted (RIP to Guko the stone ape). I had been thinking it's been a minute since we got a King run, lo and behold! Should I start thinking about a gargoyle or magic clown run next? 😈
He just did a gargoyle run last week. You can probably find it on his twitch VODs. It was painfully hard to make him work on the higher difficulty.

I did a few King runs during the beta and the chests literally had one or two rooms they could spawn in, which resulted in a lot of magic King runs, they were quite enjoyable.

If not for that additional 100% damage taken that you stacked on yourself in the last portion, I have a feeling you would've been able to kick the Dark Hero's ass! Seeing you get smacked with ~100 damage per hit was a massive red flag during the start of that fight!
Nonetheless, it was a pretty enjoyable run, and seeing you head into the Sisters fight with 25HP yet leaving without losing the first life was beautiful!

This inspired me t do a magic king run on my first run on hardmode, ended up with 1600% magic power, was hitting for 4k with my ice crossbow arrows without a crit and when i charged it I was hitting for 10k with all 3 arrows

Ahhh yes the dmg greed.... I too had a run ruined by it. IRONICALLY it was a poison/mutant build with carlean commander & minotaur. Got the omen that puts shadow goop on the floor when you swap and I basically had to do nothing the entire run besides focus on dodging/swapping while letting poison/aoe/pets do its work. Then of course dad merc'd me.
Just got to the video and wanted to say that for lower difficulties pike-dash build still works pretty good even without new beginnings. It helped me clear mirror level 1 and 2. It's still incredibly useful being able to do pretty good damage while dashing and not being able to take damage due to s.
I haven't made it to the higher difficulties yet, but maybe it'll fall off due to low damage after a certain point.
edit, I did it without the constant dash skill. No s makes it feel so bad.

I just had one of the best runs ever from a set I thought would be awful; sub 35 on Level 10, getting 'The Strong' achievement. However, I noticed this skull I used got a very important buff that makes this set possible, and I would like you to try it.

Beelz, bud, I'm enjoying the run but I gotta demand a Warlock run. I barely ever won runs with him in Normal Mode and last night I watched as 15% of Dad's Health vanish with every cast of Meteor. Soul Strike and Eagle Eye do fucking Work. It's a good time, give it a go.
Edit: forgot to say this was how I cleared Dankness 9 first try last night and am now slamming my face against Dankness 10. Warlock showed up in the first shop and I went "well I gotta give it a whirl" and rng rewarded me for my audacity

Hey, Beelz, I just tried a serious poison run and I now understand why the game doesn't have a poison-centered skull. Because it has the disposable syringe. So I just went along with my run with just common thief and it was kinda crazy, ngl. So it got me thinking. What do you think about doing a poison run?
Also, the "on kill" abilities always frustrate me. Like, ffs, the main fights in the game don't give you any enemies to kill... why would you do that?

Daddy Hero was NOT having a chill with you. Also, the "flash dash" attack does indeed target you all the time, forcing you to always move or dash to avoid.
I find it much easier to move left to avoid a right lightning, then move right to avoid a left lightning, repeat; only if there are 2 lightnings by each other, I dash
If you get DP, might I make a suggestion for Stage 1 music of Super Miriam from FAITH Chapter 3? IMO it feels sufficiently Dark Paladin-y, especially if you get a particularly good item early on like Fulgent Dawn
