    Scripture used in this video (in order);
    For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people.
    Titus 2:11
    For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
    Ephesians 6:12
    Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
    1 Peter 5:8
    When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
    John 8:12
    12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.
    Matthew 24:12, 13
    But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says:
    “God opposes the proud
    but shows favor to the humble.”
    James 4:6
    And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
    Philippians 4:19
    And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
    Romans 8:28
    For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
    Galatians 5:14
    Turn my heart toward your statutes
    and not toward selfish gain.
    Psalm 119:36
    All scripture is taken from the New International Version (NIV).

    This is why Christian metal is so great. They have a perspective that is, i think, closer to the truth then some contemporary artists. Worship is not just music that is like Hillsong or Chris Tomlin. I think bands like Phinehas, Sleeping Giants, and For Today can worship within the genre of metal, though unfortunately the great bands of Sleeping Giants and For Today disbanded. I think what it boils down to is personal taste. I think Sean hit it on the mark.

    amazing story, i was in a band called Fatal Prayer, we were approached by an ar guy from victory, he wanted to sign us, but then he went to jail for a year, well he got out of jail and contacted me. at this point my band broke up, but Phinehas came through and played a show at River City Pizza, in Needles California. so i told Andrew( the AR guy who just got out of jail) to go check them out. so in a way through the grace of god, in fatal prayer's ashes i passed the opportunity to a band that i knew was ready.

    Thank you for the interview Metal-Cross. I LOVE to hear my metal bands talk about their bands and ESPECIALLY their faith etc. You interviewers always ask the same questions about being Christian and metal band. I know they are quietly tired of that question, but I guess its expected. None the less... thanks for the interview! I really enjoyed it!

    • @MetalCross
      @MetalCross  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +rage5606 Thank you for the kind words! I knew that Sean had some issues with Christian's and their judgement towards believers who like metal, which is why I intentionally asked him that question. But I also like to hear about the love and forgiveness that those in the metal scene give to those judgemental Christians. Even though those Christians may judge, ridicule, insult and reject Christian metal-heads, they are still part of the body of Christ, just as we are. I am proud of the Christian metal-heads who are taking the high-ground and being the example of how Jesus accepted everyone and died on the cross for us all.

      +Lochmock You are not alone my Brother. Unfortunately, there are still people holding onto old traditional views of what it is to be a Christian. In many cases picking and choosing what old testament laws to follow (and enforce on others) and which ones not to follow...when in reality, Jesus Christ has freed us from the law to worship Him as our heart leads us to.
      Check out our video "Is Christian Heavy Metal Music...Evil (an inside look)" which focuses on the topic of your comment. There are lots of bible verses in that video. Actually, your church leaders may be interested in watching it to in order to see what God thinks about worshiping Him with heavy metal.
      In Him be the glory forever and ever!

    I was in a band who was blessed to play TWO shows with Phinehas in St. Louis.We played once with just them and we played that Silent Plante show he is talking about. So cool to hear him mention it. It was probably very close to when this was recorded. We were a Christian metal-core band as well. Recently I was told by another Christian on facebook that I had oppressive spirits because I listen to and plat metal and there is nothing Christian about it. He never heard us. He never read the lyrics. And he doesnt know any of us personally. A real shame. But in all honesty there is a lot of oppressive spirits in metal. I only like metal that glorifies God and is uplifting. I don't listen to dark sounded metal. I have absolutely no interest in it. I LOVE phinehas. One of my all time favorite bands. They are super cool in person too. And yes, they talk about Jesus live. They are the ONLY christian metal band that I have seen do this except Wolves at the Gate. And they do it the best. They read parables on stage. If you dont know WATG, they are a MUST!!!

    Many "mainstream" Christians want to judge this type of music b/c of the way it sounds and not by its message, purpose or love for God, instead they favor contemporary Christian music, much of it sounding pleasant, but so vague that you have no idea what the song is about or who it's for. Even now, there are mainstream "Christian" artists that put occultic symbols on their album covers and sing songs that are absolutely blasphemous, BUT HEY - it sounds pleasant to the ear. Anyone willing to go spread the Gospel should be supported by the church b/c they are faithfully serving God.

I not surprised that with people who weaker in faith walk will react exactly how music make them feel when they hear his band music.
