Nice work. Bedini and I worked all this out decades ago. The best "load" is a near short circuit. It turns out that charging a large battery is the best load because a battery being charged is a near "short circuit with a voltage displacement." Conversely, you can use it to charge DC capacitors and periodically dump them into a battery. Self-running systems based on these ideas have been around since the 1970s. Both Panasonic in Japan and Seimens in Germany had self-running electric scooters, based on these ideas, back then. Keep doing what you are doing. You are on the right track!
Nice build. The speed up and reduced input power under dead short versus another load again has to do with the time constant of the coils. If you add R ( from your load ) you change the TC and lose the effect. Your load must have as little R as possible. Even Supercaps in series may have too much R, whereas a single big electrolytic capacitor will have much less resistance and you will still be able to produce the effect. Use the single largest electrolytic capacitor with the lowest R that you have on hand. After that test, add switching. When you switch the coils to a very low R load, it is similar to coil shorting, which will give you voltage spikes on top. Later add K_Energy's cap dump and a pwm to try and reduce the input power to the DC motor, after the generator is up to speed and under load. How much cogging is there when you turn the shaft by hand? I can imagine that most of the extra load experienced by the DC motor after the generator is shorted is due to cogging. The load due to cogging can be significantly reduced by rotor skewing. There is a simple formula for it and it's intuitive. "Rotor skew pattern design and optimisation for cogging torque reduction"

You can't calculate your output power by multiplying the open circuit voltage by the short circuit current. When you attach the ammeter (effectively shorting the circuit), your voltage will drop significantly (near 0 V as there is some small resistance in the wires and meter). To get a better idea of your output power, connect a know load resistance and measure voltage across it, the current through it, or both(W = V^2 / R, W = I^2 * R, or W = V * I).
Definitely interested in your design. This is a close design to the QEG. I would add capacitors on the secondary windings of your coils to form a resonant LC circuit. If you get the right capacitor values and the right rotational speed, you should get better results than you currently have. Secondary windings will need to be smaller gauge wire so that the turns per ratio is much higher.
I'm better at designing and building than the electronic side. Thats why I want to build experiment platforms for other people to run with their ideas, and hopefully share them back. This is actually a flux switch generator developed for guided missile systems I've recently found out. Even though its not a new concept, I think it show promise. And you can't just buy these easily. So maybe they'll be good for a wide range of applications.
If you wanna the current low, while the output is high, here is a possibility: I use a Hallsensor, to put coils on and of. Use the super capacitor, to keep the load small, while thick wired coils gets the load, so it is near short curcuit. I used severeal coil on one core, parallel, and between them (and at the ends, means 5 primary and 6 secondary coils) i havethe secondary coil. The primary parallel, means you put the magnetic force of the breakdown, or the capacitor, together. In my experience, you need relatively high resistance, so the parallelity can reduce the ohm but every single coil uses the electricity properly to produce the magnetic field. But becarefull, this can cause an induction, that mybe slow down your Motor. But i don't know, cause i build an other construction with fly back or breakdown energy. Maybe yours work Differen. The 6 secondary should be connectet in series. Try to reduce the ohm, but you need a high induction, so in series. Parallel, i didn't get much out of it.
Alot of effort. And neat production. Can the output power up the motor, such that you are extracting the energy of the neodymium magnets and getting net energy production?
I think your approach is valid, but instead of measuring i think attaching numerous loads and parallel or series combinations of them could help getting the most out of it. Like charging a battery through a lightbulb or two. Anyway cool build! are you planning a larger build aswell?

Bi-toroidal transformer! When making one of these make sure the two outer coils (there are 3 in total) are the same frequency so they resonate. Both of these coils need to be under load to see overunity 👍
Replace the magnets with high frequency AC electromagnets(increases output) wound so the Norths are up in synchrony, have the rotor be stationary with four points at the coils. You will need laminations that can handle the changing high frequency flux.
Through my understanding of the working principle of QEG, I thought about placing neodymium magnets in place of the field generating coils. so uh, your voltmeter at a dead short at 4:21 is clearly showing 0.267V assuming your ammeter is single amps, and that the resistance is rather low, that would give an output of 0.58 watts with an input power of 58 watts, that's a little over 1% round trip efficiency. I do see where your coming from believe me. But this effect only happens under short circuit conditions. A 3000f super capacitor acts as a dead short when its empty.
