This proposal is very interesting yet does a great job describing the overall problem in society. It does a great job drawing attention to the problem through satire and exaggeration. The exaggeration makes the wrote interesting to read as it lures in the reader. This lecture helps develop a strong literary analysis as it specifically highlights the points to mention and the meaning and usage of devices.

I believe that satire pieces are the most complex and interesting to analyze. It is fascinating how, after the break down of the writing in this lecture, you are then able to capture the full picture of a writing piece. The explanation given on the rhetoric and emotional aspect that was explained during this lecture helped me realize his true intentions and satire instead of being literal. Thank you!

Your breakdown of Swift's ironic use of logic and economic principles was particularly insightful. The way you highlighted the absurdity of proposing cannibalism as a solution to poverty. I was particularly impressed by your analysis of Swift's rhetorical strategies. From his use of persuasive language and emotional appeals to his carefully constructed arguments.

I love how you explained the entire reading into something I could actually understand. I already have a difficult time understanding literature and I had a really difficult time trying to read through the "eating of infants" especially since I have two adorable infant grandbabies. I understand it's satirical, but still 😥Anyhow, thank you for sharing this video. I was able to find a little focus to write my essay. Please continue to post your videos!!

I liked your analysis of "A Modest Proposal" by Jonathan Swift. You effectively noted Swift’s ironic application of logical and economic principles, especially the shocking proposition of cannibalism to solve poverty. I would like to note how you outlined Swift’s use of persuasive language, emotional appeals, and well-crafted arguments, underscoring his critique of social policies. Thank you for sharing your insight!

The breakdown of how he uses rhetoric was something I would’ve looked over while reading the literature. This piece had a satirical undertone due to it speaking about “eating babies”. So, I would assume pathos would be used a lot, which it was. Appealing to logos in the text was shocking and very interesting as well.

His proposal is very odd, but he does a good job of arguing for it. I can't respect the goal, but I respect how good of a job he does. The does a good job by making the problem seem big, and schemingly provides that corrupt solution.

The break down of these reading is very interesting as swift is talking a very controversial topic. It funny analysis it after reading it with a serious tone although you know it’s satire. Over al very interesting
