A 24 hour serum actually makes a lot more sense than permanent powers. A super soldier going rogue is a PR nightmare.
That is the point of V-24. Guys like Homelander and Soldier Boy are an unmitigated shitshow. But a disciplined corps of soldiers using V-24 are easier to manage.......and eliminate if they become problems.
They already suffer from Ptsd...

Then what do they do to get more? Super soldiers with a drug addiction? I think they don't know what they're getting into. Homelander was supposed to be a final product and he failed. Back to the drawing board, scrap the whole project.
As we find out, using the Temp V too many times leads to brain failure.
It'd have to only be used on special missions.
Although the soldiers would have to trial it to find out what powers they got. Wouldn't want to be in a battle zone when you try it first time and end up with an enormous appendage.

It’s cause he had some black mass clouding his brain, then took the Real V & all the V did was bring the parasite to life
I'm probably wrong but I think the temp v genetically enhanced the cancer he had already or something like that. Like I said I'm probably wrong or just don't have the full picture to paint
@@Khosmik As I recall it was more like this: TempV causes brain tumor to grow, but applying normal V on top of that causes the tumor to mutate.

Someone brought up an interesting fan theory. Stan probably really tried pushing for temp v to get approved so he could get a team of temp v’d up soldiers to take out Homelander and from there he would finally be able to turn Vought back into a proper pharmaceutical company. Plus since it’s temporary he wouldn’t have to worry about another Homelander making a mess.
Imagine the amount of cancer cases like Butcher’s V’d up brain tumor for all those soldiers that might’ve took the Temp V

@@tristensnider It hasn't been revealed yet if they finished "ironing out the kinks". But as far as the audience knows, V-24 is still unstable based on what we've seen in episode 5, when they were using it to experiment on rabbits.

you know when he brought up 60 million dollars per squad for super powers that actually CHEAPER than the current price of arming a squad with the latest weapons and support gear. Its one of those things that is just not really talked about alot. the real reason we would want a super soldier is they are just way cheaper to use than modern weapons.
1 tank hundreds of millions of dollars, if we can just have a guy who is a strong as a tank thats objectivly cheaper, even if we can only use the guy in one operation.
Sounds like they got the idea from project power but instead of 5 mins its 24 hrs
And the powers are actually useful.

For me. I'm broke and with it Id use it to change my lifestyle forever 💉Id have teleporting 24 hr powers. Disguise and cover my body from feet to head wearing shades, a hoodie and a bandana on my mouth, wait till the bank is closed at night and portal jumping into the vault, spray can the cameras in black and start taking all the money into my large duffel bags and portal back home.

So you would probably not get teleporting, more likely very high physical strength and durability (like almost all supes), but you could get something useless, like Deeps powers while living hundreds of kilometers from any sea or super accuracy with guns (like gunpowder), while living in state or country where it is illegal to have one without special permit.

Is something slightly wrong here. I don't think it would take a month long operation it would at maximum be a week long operation if the opposition doesn't have superpowers it would be over in 2-3 days.
Surveillance and intel gathering might not need 10 temp v soliders to do it

On the Sea just Deep is enough. A whale just hitting a sub and sharks for the survivors.
All this is considering the soldiers are competent.
Only until the enemies get it too. If temp V isn’t necessary enough to buy in bulk, Vought has an incentive to make it necessary. Even if they’re under pressure, there’s always leaks, stolen shipments, chemists going rogue, the serum getting reverse engineered somehow, etc. These could happen on accident or “on accident.”
I think that would greatly depend on what powers the formula would grant a soldier. Furthermore, would that soldier always get the SAME power, or would they get different powers every time they dose up?
@@rockyhankin8679 Well that is a risk with every drug. But will hardly make a difference if the government has it they will be trying to improve upon the vought formula so the enemy would always be a few steps behind. If three people get the homelander package they can do serious damage but it would be negligible if the opponents have 6 or even 10 people with similar or different powers who can get a top up in the middle of the battle.

Even just enhancing a soldier's physical capacities (strength, speed, durability, stamina) a little bit would be a huge advantage.

Really this should only be handed to tier 1 operators if it’s permanent. Handing to every soldier let alone everyone in combat arms is a recipe for disaster. You think sups hired by Vought are bad, imagine a bunch of lonely drunk teenagers a weekend.
You need practice to master the use of your powers, how the hell you going to train a dude whos never have super power before to master it in a few days for a spec ops ?
They will never be comparable to a supes who had been using their powers since birth.
So you keep buying the stuff, dose at a time, until the Soldier is trained up good and proper.
Question: does the same Power come back with each dose, or is each dose it's own experience?
@@pirobot668beta Doesn't matter, the supes got their powers since birth , their training time will always be many many times more than a soldier who only get to use it just a few days a month.
The were pretty clear right in the clip that the point is not to make effective soldiers. The point is to make money.

Ok, its still a lot more effective than a regular soldier. We've seen what The Boys can do with it, and its pretty powerful.
For the same price as what the US government pay for 1 missile, you could get over 100 clumsy supes for a day. Seems like a pretty good deal.
The sheer numbers alone would be enough to completely overwhelm almost any opposition, regardless of training with super powers.

You won't need a month long operation. Also, you get to test the powers after the first hit to know who is homelander material and who is toad😂😂. No army will want to mess with you and most operations will last days at most
Facts! I think they're willing to waste $2M to see which soldiers get a primo power and then devote all the attention to them. What would be really interesting is if a soldier gets a different power each dose.
This was by far the best and only good writing in the Boys
