    Avoid quick carbs and try to eat foods that last longer in your bloodstream, like brown rice, oatmeal, beans, etc. As tempting as it may be to reach for quick sugar or candy (even fresh fruit), don't!!! Eating such foods will provide quick fix for the moment but have a hard sugar crash later, making your symptoms far worse than when the hypoglycemic attack started!!!

      modestgirl58 Only get the glycemic tabs either in tablet form or liquid and just take one at a time or 1 teaspoon of peanut butter. These raise my blood sugar really fast but if I eat anything more it will go over and go to high. See Dr. Richard Bernstein on TH-cam if you really want to know how to treat diabetes! He literally saved my life.

    I have suffered for decades from very extreme hypoglycaemia (meaning that my values were often 1 - 3, very low, but true). I sweated a lot from this (not a problem of itself, but a symptom of it). About a year ago I switched to a very low carb diet (not quite keto, about 55 grams of carbs per day). It wasn't even for the hypoglycaemia, but amazingly, almost immediately I stopped sweating, my blood-sugar was normal, and I haven't had any problems with it since.
    I am not trying to push anything, but if anyone can benefit from my experience, I am happy to have shared this.

      @@mnguitar1 The most important thing was to cut all sugars (both artificial and natural), caffeine (decaf for the taste instead) and alcohol... the last two completely, and if I want anything sweet, only a very small bit, and on a full stomach (after dinner).

    I was put on metformin and started suffering hypoglycemia and I had no idea what it was. My doctor didn't educate me she only wanted to push pills on me. I thought I was suffering from anxiety attacks. If your doctor puts you on diabetes meds for prediabetes, find a new doctor. If you decide to take those meds ask your doctor to prescribe you a glucose meter. Mine didn't. Unless I'm falling out into sugar comas I won't be taking anymore diabetes meds

    I suffer from hypoglycemia too. At school and now in college I have problems with the headaches, sweating and all that stuff. On top of that I am overweight. Whenever I exercise and keep sugary foods away, I suffer from hypoglycemia and it sucks. Hypoglycemia doesn't go away until I eat a bunch of stuff ( specially sweet foods) and then there goes my diet plan. This thing really sucks if you are overweight too. I don't have diabetes though but still I suffer from this constantly.

      I lose control of.my body temperature, my functioning I shake i.panic it's just horrible I feel.like I'm zoning out and possibly dying and I realise it's simply because I haven't eaten yet and "just done a bit too much exercise " or walked a bit too long it's usually after a period of activity.
      after I adequately stuff my face enough to feel better it's like it never happened until I get it wrong the next time :/ really sucks

    Something just happened to me while I was in the shower. I started to start showering and then all of a sudden I felt really really weak and like my hearing was really low like muffled and I couldn’t stand anymore like I honestly couldn’t hold myself up and I let myself fall like it was crazy , I also started shaking a little bit after. This has happened before once months ago but I never thought it would happen again and I’m worried.

I finally found out that I was hungry despite me eating a couple of hours before. I started to feel better after eating but my hearing was bad for the rest of the day. I was not showering at the time, I was walking home from a local store. It was crazy!

      hey! im here because i happen to have hypoglycemia, but i saw your comment and, im not a doctor, but i have POTS, and frequently faint from it, or at least collapse. losing hearing like that is exactly what happens to me when i have an episode. its caused by oxygen not getting to your head appropriately. several things can cause something like that, hot showers is deffinately one of them. so are hot days, medical issues reguarding the circulatory system, other stuff. hypoglycemia is def on that list, but i would still go see a doctor. even if it is hypoglycemia there are tons of medical issues that can cause hypoglycemia itself. also, even healthy people can get episodes of fainting or hypoglycemia with no real underlying cause, just happens sometimes, so dont worry too much.

  • @Soyosan22
    @Soyosan22 10 ปีที่แล้ว +15

    I often experience hypoglycemia not due to diabetes but due to systematic undereating. Actually, after some time you start getting addicted to it because it causes you to lose touch with reality and it feels like you are somewhere else.

      @danthemanvargas2075 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes! I know this is an old comment so sorry about that but yes! I don't even feel like myself when I go hypo and it usually happens when I under-eat. I feel so weird and alien. My speech gets slurred and I get really panicky.

      Does hypoglycemia really cause this disassociation?

  • @Miracle490d
    @Miracle490d 11 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Don't panick. You won't die if you learn how to take care of yourself. hypoglycemia is only fatal if your blood sugar gets too low, you can die from a grand mall siezure. But not every grand mall siezure is necessarily fatal. But best to avoid since they also effect your brain. If your blood sugar is too low, you may get a glucometer to test it regular. But there are different levels. I have never had a siezure in my life and have had it undiagnosed since childhood! Maybe you know this by now.

  • @The_New_Abnormal_World_Order

    I used to get this and it was horrible. I didn't have diabetes but had adrenal insufficiency. No one warned me about it and I didn't understand what was happening. I would find myself ravenously hungry, violently shaking, filled with panic as though I might die, and barely capable of finding the food and getting it into my mouth. Plates and cups would fall to the ground and smash in the process. Awful!

    Burning up almost all of your available blood sugar. Not eating properly. Medium to extreme exertion when low on available blood sugar. I think the best cure is some sugar/glucose, then a small amount of easily digested carbs, because the sugar gives you enough energy to digest, and the carbs are going to hang around and stabilise your sugar levels. Should probably have small meals throughout the day, and include some carbs, and always keep some 97% glucose handy in the form of tablets.

    I have a question, when I have middle low blood sugar such as pain in body, swetting, shaking, thirsty, heartache, feeling dizzy and confused,
    if I'm not near sugar... I find taking off my clothes stalls the fainting.
    If I'm hot I will faint much quicker than when I am cold, why is that?

    • @xxghostcompass
      @xxghostcompass 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I get the same way. be careful with that. when your body starts reacting to low blood sugar its super low. get something to eat as soon as you can. I've fainted before. there's something called a diabetic coma that can happen if you let it go on too long.

    I’ve had hypoglycaemia since I was 6 (I’m 14 atm) before that I had epilepsy, I was in and out of hospital for a few years but I don’t have that anymore so that’s good. When I was I think 4-6 years old the only thing I would eat was rice for 4 years. My mum would try and give me other food but I wouldn’t eat it (the only other thing I had was Corn Flakes which is a Australian cereal), in the end I had to have a tube put in me to help me eat or something? Idk. I used to be really skinny as a kid but now I’m healthy and probably eat a bit to much tbh

Dr. R keeps telling me there is nothing wrong with me. yet i have collapsed at work and other public places Dr R use to think that i skipped meals or took insulin to make my sugar drop. i wake at 6:30 am breakfast at 7 am oatmeal, 1st snack 10 am fresh fruit, lunch at 1 pm sandwich and flavored brown rice, 2nd snack at 4 pm mixed nuts. dinner at 7 pm salad with beans or rice, 3rd snack at 9:30 pm yogurt, ice cream, or cottage cheese. bed at 10:30 pm. i institutionalized my self in ISO for 2 week and has 5 hypos and 2 seizures. Dr R had them checked for contraband and they found nothing .i was allowed 3 meals a day and only water. Dr R has been my family's Dr sense before i was born. he delivered me and my older sisters. he still keeps saying there is nothing wrong with me i have found a new Dr they ran a bunch of tests to day hope they will find the cause of the headaches and other thinks

    Neonatal newborn - hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar)
    The prophet of Allah (God) made mandatory the practise of Taḥnīk (تَحْنِيكِ) for newborn babies, which is an Islamic ceremony of touching the lips of a newborn baby with honey, sweet juice or pressed dates. Originally the date was softened by mastication by the pious person and rubbed on the infant's palate.
    The taḥnīk also *exercises the muscles of the mouth* and helps with the *circulation of blood* in the mouth - this may help the baby to be able to suck and take mother's milk. It is also credited to prevent *neonatal hypoglycemia* in newborn babies.
    Now tell me. The western world has just acquired this knowledge. With all the gadgets and equipment and technology and professional knowledge, skills and team work - how did a man who neither knew how to read and write at the time of his prophethood, *know* such a thing? Among some many other miracles and prophecies of the future.
    There is no god except Allah and Muhammad is his Messenger.
    This is the truth.
    This is the truth.
    This is the truth
